USA June 2011 SAT: MATHEMATICS Discussion Thread

for the last fill in with like 64 numbers and taking out all multiples of 3, 17 should work right?

I was wayy off on the rope one, too.

for missing mult of x = 7?

@Yanks12

Do you mean 3 and FOURTEEN for the one that said only 63 integers out of a 100 remain after removing the factors of 3 and n?

As in, n = 14? That’s what I got, atleast…

Anyone know which one was the experimental?

Pen Question? I put 1.4 what was the difference?

Also, for the triangle when two were equal to twice the third side, I put none

the answer to the ratio question is 2:1 i think

@yanks I used 13 but idk.

For the cube one the opposite was 5 I think I’m not sure how the picture was.

Pen question I put 1.6 because they had 2 of something and 1 of another so they 3 things. If they averaged 1.4 of one thing they must’ve had 1.6 of the other.

would 25 also work for that taking out n?

@elc1994 no because it’s ANY 2 sides. 6+5 isnt twice 4

@rraghuraman yea im talking about that question but there are different n values that work

@chris610 yeah i put equil, but forgot the question had “any” in it

@defianced

I put 25 but I unfortunately just realized that isn’t right, because 25 and 3 share a multiple.

25 doesn’t work because 75 is divisible by 3. Does 19 work?

How about the one with the parabolas and the function? I just guessed and put the one opening upward.

wasnt the pen one 1.4 also?

We know that 19 works, 20 works, and 17 works… I’m sure there are others.

the multiples of 3 on i put 13. How about the one above it with the coordinate points (9,6) (5,y)

The parabolas was the one opening up because its something like (-t)2 so it will come up positive and go infinitely up.

@ sidthekidc87 pen was 1.6 … avg is 3 total things, avg must add up to 3, 1.4+1.6
