Usa today all academic team 2011

Thanks so much for sharing the good news pkaahardin! Good luck to everyone!

Well, has anyone received notice? I am thinking the winners should have heard by now!! If you have heard anything Just say… Yes! You don’t have to say anymore if that is important to be confidential!

still haven’t heard a word, checked with ASU admin and they haven’t heard anything either - wish someone would tell us something, waiting is not one of my virtues :)

Anyone heard anything? It is already September. Is the scholarship discontinued? uhh

heard nothing and can’t figure out who to contact that might know. My university adviser hasn’t heard anything either. Very frustrating.

Not sure where you have been looking, or if this helps…

http://www.usatoday.com/educate/college/highered/2011/4-apr/4-13-11/all-usa-cc-team.pdf

And if this wasn’t what you were talking about, then apologies.

^^^

That’s for community colleges…

I think this thread is waiting for the delayed announcement for the university picks for the USA-Today all academic team.

This general msg just came to our school liaison as an update: "Final judging is scheduled for next Tuesday so announcements will be soon after….please accept my apologies. Still working on logistics for 2012 and I’ll keep you updated.

Hope this is helpful!

Has anyone heard anything? I would imagine winners should have been notified by pkaahardin’s previous post but that is what we thought a couple of months ago lols.

No one I know has heard a word. At this rate I’m going to graduate before results get posted!

Still no news? Can anyone who has a way to contact them (ie. through some sort of administrator or fellowship officer) maybe send them an email to ask for an update? Hopefully it will be settled before 2012…

This is pretty absurd. I’m not really expecting to win anything from this but I would like some closure. You’d think an organization like the USA Today would be a little more organized than this…

Wow. I’d a thought you guys would have heard by now. Glad we heard in May of last year and not this late (especially if you guys are applying to graduate schools now). Would one of you guys like the email of the lady who was in charge of things last year. PM me if you want it…

Hey samboman,

Thanks so much for sharing your insights about the USA today all academic team competition. I was wondering if you could PM me the email/contact information for the person in charge of the program. Thanks so much!

I replied. Let me know if you get it.

Debbie McMahon is who a former told me might be able to help if anyone wants to search it out!

any update would be appreciated. I graduate in December and December 15 is deadline for application to a couple programs I’m applying to, it would be nice to include the results of this.

Any updates?

I got an email today from USA Today letting me know that I was selected to the 2nd team. They didn’t indicate when the news would be made public, but that we were not to share it with anyone until it ran in the USA Today.

I’m a little irritated that it has taken them so long =\ I’m a senior now and already had to apply to a lot of things that could have benefited from having this. More importantly, will we be able to apply again this academic year since the news likely won’t even come out until December? I feel like a lot of people that were juniors when they applied are seniors now and would have had even stronger applications if they had been able to use their updated information. Oh well.

You really should not post if you have been selected or not:

“The release of any information is embargoed until USA TODAY publishes the All-USA College Academic Team in the USA Today newspaper, likely February 2012.”

Releasing any information prior to USA TODAY’s official release can result in the revocation of your title.
