^^ Yea me too, I think I picked the first one (A).

What was the question?

Do scores come out tommorow or the 3rd?

they come out on the 2nd. friday

post your scores when they come !

Semifinalist, yay-ness! No idea what my score is yet.

Me to! 33/50

Wait, how did you guys find out?

From our teachers.. I'm guessing.

39/50 here... Pretty nice improvement from last year. :)

From what I've heard, this year's cutoff is extremely high (30ish), probably because of all the recycled 2005 Open Exam questions that were on this year's test. o_O

There were repeated questions? Well, that screws over those of us who couldn't take it last year because the school forgot to pay the fee...

(Apparently I missed by, like, one point. ARGH.)

will the qualifiers be posted online? And anyone know the specific cutoff? Also, any hints for the semi-finals test? Campbell, Campbell, Campbell, or are there other (more succinct) books out there?

cut off = 30

I made it! ^_^

I made semi's :D don't know my score, though. Could someone confirm that the cutoff was 30 this year? That seems much higher than the norm (25ish?)

and does the CEE ever post announcements on the USABO webpage, like news about semifinals, finals, etc? Will they post an official announcement concerning semi's now that it's mar. 2?

They don't publish the names of semifinalists. There are too many.

Well, maybe this might change, but they haven't done so in the previous 4 years.

Isn't it <= 500 Semifinalists?

There were 629 last year. It is increasing with increased participation.

Another reason might be because semifinalists represent a generally large proportion of all participations (~10%). National Merit publishes the names of all ~16,000 semifinalists because that huge number of students still represents less than 1% of the high school seniors population.

where do you see the scores?

So how impressive is USABO semifinalist? Would it be something you'd put on your resume?

fcking 29 @#@!$$@% I think I will kill myself

Well the site only has 2004 and 2006 open exam questions, and I dont think very many people are dedicated to biology enogh to take it 3 years in a row, so I dont see how it mattered. Unless you guys studied off of the 2005 open in preparation for this test.
