Not at all. As far as I'm concerned, they ask for HS transcripts only to verify that you graduated. If you are applying for junior standing, I'm sure that 100% of the decision will rest on your college stats.

And yes there is a difference. Rule of thumb is to only round to the second digit, so on your app you should put your GPA down as 3.87.

Additional note: My HS grades were so bad that I had to drop out and go to a continuation school, so I'm fairly confident in what I'm saying about the weight in HS GPA.

is it easier for junior transfers to get in than sophomore transfers since it seems as the number of sophomore transfers is much greater than the number of junior transfers? or does anyone know this trend over the previous years?

hopeful, i would have to say yes. I've talked to many admissions counselors on the subject and the schools want you to come to their university basically finished with your general ed, i.e. not having classes looming over your head which could keep you from graduating on time.

Hey, my GPA went up from a 3.56 to a 3.68 and I was wondering if I should send in a new transcript with my application. I waited a bit too long and the deadline for transfers is coming up fast, so I don't know if they will even look at it if it's received after the deadline. I don't know if there is a gurantee for the spring grades request, and I am scared that if I don't get straight A's this semester, my GPA will go down again. What do you think I should do? I am so nervous that I will not get into USC, because I have already been rejected once.

Send in your official transcript because that's a very good jump and you want them to look at that. Don't worry about the deadline situation, you should be fine

Today I sent my transcripts (which include Summer and Fall) but I know my winter classes will help my GPA and they finish Feb 20th. Should I send them once they are on my transcripts, so they can be updated with my grades?

I would Jocelyne. most of us will prob get spring grades requests as well so we might as well send in every transcript we receive because theyll ask for it eventually anyways

Hey everyone im brand new on here.
Question- I faxed my hs transcripts forms and college transcripts forms in like 3 weeks ago. I got a confirmation email for the hs forms but not for the college forms. Did anyone else encounter this??? I know they said they were going to go through everything eventually manually but i just want to make sure they have all my stuff.

*I'm mainly asking this because my application status says stuff is missing and i do not know what else it could be....

The exact same thing happened to me. Tell me exactly what you faxed over and maybe we can figure this out.

hi was anyone originally admitted, chose to go to another university, and submitted an application update form the next year for readmission? I was just wondering what the chances are for readmits and if we find out sooner than other transfers. thanks.

Yea sure. I faxed in the hs info form along with my hs transcript between the cover and closing sheets. I also faxed in my college info form and transcript between the cover and closing sheets for that. Did you do the same??? I really dont think i did anything wrong and this is really bugging me. Should we message USC and ask to see if they got it?

***SHWAYZEEE- you can see your application status by just logging into your application again if you have completed it.

Reddogg, I'm sure you have a better chance if that's the case because they already liked what they saw in you before... were you admitted from before?

oh ok, thanks maximum89

here's mine:
Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2009)
We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.

yeah I was admitted last year and decided to go to another 4 year school.
hopefully I can get back in with a 3.75 fall quarter gpa. I know that's not great but I heard they weight your HS stats more if you have less than 30 units so that's good for me.

you think they'll notice a GPA jump from a 3.46 to a 3.63 within a semester? lol...i'm still nervous about their "Average of 3.7 GPA" - i feel like they'll just be like "pshh 3.63 isn't good enough" :(
