knucleball9 - what is your major, what were your stats for high school (possible option of transferring after 1 year) and ec's?

Then I can be able tell you how difficult it is going to be to transfer.

i dont know who is saying that they expect 3.8 from both CC and 4yr universities. The brochure says that they look at course work and grades & then place that in context of the university ur attending... and most ppl would think that getting a 4.0 at a CC is a lot easier than getting a 4.0 from a school like Duke or Georgetown or something

so yeah just wanted to put that out there

dont F up my hope people!!

shooshu,
do you go to a cc or a 4 year university?

ShooShuShoeShou - they don't expect everyone to fall right on the average to be admitted (it's an average!). I don't necessarily know what the average is for the other schools but the 3.8 GPA is the average accepted transfer applicant for Marshall School of Business (I'm a Business Admin major). As for differences between CC and 4-year universities to transferring, USC counselors have said that they do not discriminate which college you have attended in their decision making process for admission.

ShooShuShoeShou,

A bit of subjectivity can make its way into a 'holistic' review of any application, but don't bank on that saving anyone from an 'objective' (at least on paper) assessment.

I just got my grades for the winter quarter...and I got a 3.3 in Calc II this quarter. I'm pretty disappointed in the grade, but realistically is it really going to hurt my chances to transfer?

I got a 3.9 in Calc I last quarter and my lowest grade other than the 3.3 is a 3.8. (the class I got a 3.8 in doesn't transfer so I guess my lowest grade other than the 3.3 in transferable courses is a 3.9) My overall GPA is just over a 3.8. I was also taking more than a full course load and working the winter quarter, so hopefully they take that into consideration. I'm just SO nervous about everything.

Um...did anyone else get the 'being reviewed by committee' update? I'm a transfer btw.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

KataraTrojan, can you please copy and paste your status here?

Typically the status "your application is being reviewed by the admissions committee" is only seen a few days before the actual decision is made and released. What major are you applying for?

I just checked again and it changed back to:

"We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1."

20 mins ago it said they'll let me know of my admissions decision by April 1st. I even called and the guy said it wasn't a mistake...I'm going to have a heart attack now!

AHH WTH! KATARATROJAN. can you please be more specific?! what ttheee heck i'm freaking outt!!

Whaat major are you!!!

I don't know but my status changed then switched back. Are they reviewing transfers now? I need to call them again tomorrow.

Anthropology

what the heckk. are you a sophomore transfer or junior?? and also...i talked to a lady like on friday..and she said they were going to START reviewing transfers in the end of march..how could they possibly make a decision for you already. this is madness. i hope you get in!

Ok. I think there is a glitch in the system. It now says:

We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.

I am not a freshman and I didn't send them anything. I am a junior transfer. I also almost died right now :(

that's weird..did you apply out of high school as well??

because if you did..and you are using the same application username maybe things are just getting messed up..but if you told the guy you were a transfer and he said it still wasn't a mistake..that's trippyy.

No but I did an application update because I withdrew my app last year. I thought that had something to do with it since they have already reviewed it before.

hmm that is weird KataraTrojan. So it changed twice in one day??
