I would get a tuition cut I think. It doesn't really help my application tough. Or at least that's one of the USC counselors told me over a year ago.

Let's hope this applies to transfers too!

Daily Trojan - USC plans to adjust acceptance rate in wake of economic downturn

wow that's interesting. i hope it does apply to us. and i'm sure if not that many freshman accept, they'll offer more transfers admission. well it makes sense that they would anyway.

aaam90 - I don't know how it works if you work at USC and your applying. I'm sure it helps for applying though and I have also seen many students who have been admitted because their parent is a member of the faculty.

I don't need to do Financial Aid because I don't ever qualify for it (just one of my parents make a little over 1/2 million a year, while the other makes at the 100k level) and I'm not applying for this year but for Fall 10'.

I really do hope you guys get the financial aid you need, I know for sure how hard you guys are trying to get into USC. Best of luck to all of you.

grey_syntactics - I don't believe you will get a tuition cut. If your case is similar to my friend who got in because of his father working at USC as a professor, then you will get a full or a discount on housing but tuition remains the same.

Children of a currently employed benefits-eligible staff employee or full-time faculty member may receive 100% tuition assistance for a maximum of 144 undergraduate units or 72 graduate units.

Grey, will you still be working for USC if you are admitted as a student?

I thought you had to be currently emplyoed by usc to get a discount. So are u going to be a part time student and part time faculty?

so i got all pumped up to give some faith in the freshman with this epic speech:

Each and everyone of you must possess the five traits that embodies the values of a Trojan: Faithful, Scholarly, Skillful, Courageous, and Ambitious.

Must have FAITH that we all will get accepted! We all showed scholarly, skillful, courageous and ambitious traits just by applying and working double time to get into this amazing school, don't give up on that last trait, for that is what weeds out the Trojans from the little boys and girls.

In honor of this epic moment, I want a fight on from all those who were not accepted yet, but have FAITH that they will!

FIGHT ON!!!!!

and i got like no fight ons.. pshh freshman these days.. :P

haha. i think we all need to fight on. and have faith. because this wait is killer.

i wish the admission counselors took our posts into consideration for our app. then they would see our dedication to USC. hahaha.

i would def look on CC for students like us
