transferaddict, how many transferable units will you have completed after this spring semester?

I applied to NYU , Boston U, UT Austin, Chapman and USC … I don’t completely understand the transferable units thing because at Mexico we take about 7 classes per semester, 8 units each… Different non-States method …

Snizzle…ill have 31 units after this semester

@pinkie and mcuevas … you have to call Oxy and ask. I called them and asked if my application file is complete, then I called the financial aid office to see if they got everything. They’re really old fashioned. Its a little refreshing. Their admission office is inside a little house.

USC is my number one choice though … if i don’t get in, i’m probably going to apply again from the school i end up going to. I HAVE TO BE A TROJAN! :)

@hyethga4lyfe

Really? Call? -.- well maybe I’ll do that just to make sure.
Originally Oxy was my first choice because I really wanted to go to a small school (currently I am at a small school and I like the idea its just WAY to easy here…) but then I decided I would apply to USC too. A random whim I had hah

@ tantungnam: Nope I’m applying from a CA cc. Thanks for the help though I think I’ll just mail them out then.

Sent from my PC36100 using CC App

got into ucsb/csulb/sfsu/usf/fullerton just waiting on usc… going to goto ucsb if I get instate and csulb if I dont

@ hyethga4lyfe and Pinkie

I will give Oxy a call today and let you know if I hear anything back from them.

I also applied to LMU (got in last week), UCLA, UCB, and UCI. USC and UCLA are my top choices though :)

Do they do the processing and verification for everyone even those not accepted just wondering as sent in parents tax info end Feb , just now is showing it was prcessed and completed on documents info

^yeah, fin aid is a totally separate department. They have to complete everyone’s file, regardless of admission- they don’t know who will or won’t be admitted, they just chug along, processing fin. aid. paperwork. Mine’s been done for over a month but I still have no decision.

1) USC
2) Chapman
3) LMU
4) UCLA
5) UCI

Upload your unofficial transcripts. I did that as soon as my winter grades were posted.

@catlover 2.

Financial aid is separate from admission. They do not know who will get accepted or not so they have to have awards in progress. The offices received all my information a month ago even though the system still reads that im missing two things…They do not update the system daily.

@mcuevas … when did you submit your lmu app? i just got an email from them today saying my application is currently under review

@jdsftw … have you been admitted to lmu? when did you submit your app?

@hyethga4lyfe I submitted my application on Jan 15th. I received my acceptance last week.

from the LMU website:

"January 15 is the fall transfer early priority date.

Apply by this date to receive early consideration for fall transfer. Transfer applicants applying by this date will receive a decision no later than June 1, and in most cases will hear well before this."

…I applied by this date because I am stressed enough by this transfer stuff that I figured it was worth a shot to hear from them a little early.

@mcuevas … yea i figured you applied on the early priority date. i applied on the march 15th date so that i could have my winter grades on my transcript. really getting sick of this waiting game.

The waiting aspect of this whole transfer process is frustrating. It makes it hard to concentrate on school. Best of luck to you, I hope that you hear back from LMU (and USC) soon!

it really is distracting. thanks! congrats on LMU and gluck w/ SC :)

Thanks for the support guys ;)

I was right, the letter asked me to send my high school transcript again. BAHWW.

usc calculates D’s in transfer gpa, so if you repeat that course and get an A in it do they only look at the most recent attempt despite the fact that they calculate both grades into gpa, or do the consider both the grades earned ?
