uscmarshall2010:
Transcripts and correspondences are sent here:
USC Office of Admission
Undergraduate
University Park Campus
Los Angeles, CA 90089-0911

2 semesters of english composition are required:
sem 1. freshman composition
sem 2. critical thinking/writing

Thank you. btw, do you know what I should tell my high-school as to how they should send the transcript? Should I tell them to fax it? I know that I have to send the high-school “Form 7 pdf” along with the address, but are there any other requirements in this process that I’m missing?

two semesters of composition are NOT required. ONE SECOND-SEMESTER level composition class is required. for example, I got AP credit for english 101 and 102, and I just have to take english 102 to satisfy the prereq.

You need to complete whatever English course that is equivalent to Writ 130! Its a requirement.

Also, on the app, when it says to list conferences and stuff, it doesn’t have to be some big time conference right? I can put conferences I have attended at school?

When I applied last year I was told by a counselor to send them in as soon as possible. They said that if you send them in a few weeks late then it would be okay, but the sooner the better because your application would then be considered “complete”.

I said two semesters of English because most transfer students don’t have the AP equivalent, which if you do have, will allow you to skip the first semester english, so dreamupsided0wn is correct there. The first semester (freshman composition) english course is a prerequisite to the second semester (critical thinking) english course. That is why I said two semesters are required. All english courses prior to freshman composition are considered remedial and will not transfer to USC. Don’t know about out-of-state colleges, but this is true for California.

The highest English level you can place into, if you’re doing the english placement exam, is the first semester freshman composition, again, which is why I said two semesters.

I bought a few extra copies of my high school official transcripts 3 years ago. Would it be okay to mail one in myself? or does it have to be done by the high school. I never opened the envelop so everything is officially sealed.

AFI990: Yes, that’s cool to do. I sent in my own HS transcript because I don’t trust my HS with any documents. I took the transcript cover sheet and wrapped it around the envelope.

@Ramborambo i don’t know about others but I kept mine relatively close to 200 words (i believe two of my answers are slightly under). I got to the point and got out. I don’t think the adcoms want to sit through and read anything longer than 300-400 words for short answers. After all it does say to explain the questions in one paragraph. As long as you put thought into it it should be fine!

@uscmarshall2010: I don’t know how Marshall does things, but the SCA just told me to submit my transcripts to the university itself so that they can pull them up from a shared file. Maybe that’s how Marshall does things?

@Budlightyear: That’s really funny. Omgomgomg I just MUST go to USC now. I see videos like that and just fall further and further in love
