USC 2011 Transfer Thread

@anandrenga2001

Good question. Form 4 is a cover sheet for LORs but it is only for Freshman only. Try emailing them to see what they say and if possibly try to post the response so if others have the same question they can see the answer.

You can still transfer without 30 units but they are going to focus on your high school record as well. Find out what classes are USC transferrable and if you happen to have 30 or more transferable units to USC, then you wont need to worry about your hs record being a factor in your admission process.

Oh and thanks @sydneyral, I feel better. :)

Hi guys! ahh what is this form 7 you guys are talking about? I sent my transcripts electronically, so i didnt include the cover sheets! what do i do!? im freaking out because…well we only have like 3 days left!

Hey everyone,

I’m applying to SCA and I just finished my film today. Can you guys let me know what you think?

Lol so im done with everything but havent submitted it and i dont want to hahah Ive gone over the whole thing like 5 times right now oh well at least im done with everything hmmm Im hoping ill get the guts to by the end of the night goodluck to you all

I have my HS transcript sealed in an envelope. I am going to USC on monday to turn my transcripts in. Do I still need to fill out form # 7?

naina - ya turn in form 7.

to everyone:

on the SAT section on the app, it says to report all standardized test scores. Can I just list my BEST SAT scores and my highest subject test scores?

They have my score report anyway to look at the rest.

@Call
I’d suggest to list all scores or else it would look like you’re trying to hide something. Even though you put all of them in, it automatically takes your highest scores and uses those as their basis.

So, how do I turn in form # 7? fax it or put it in a larger envelope with the sealed HS transcript in it too?

Well, I turned my app in yesterday, so let the waiting began (for this school anyway…)

@callofduty
dont you have over 30 units? cause if you do, you dont have to send in SAT/ACT scores right?

hey guys!
i was wondering if we needed to send in our college transcripts?
Also, do we need to have cover sheets for letters of rec and transcripts?
good luck good luck everybody!

Okay so list all my SAT scores and all the sittings from my subject tests as well holkey?

jaajaa- Yes I’m pretty sure I will have 30 units, but I think my SAT Scores can help out a bit.

@ Call
I don’t think you’re supposed to list SAT subject tests because I think they state that only Freshman are required to do so, however, you should list all your test scores even if you’ll have over 30 by the end of spring. I’ll have 42 credits by the end of Spring and still listed my SAT scores just in case they really need them.

Alright sounds good. But even I still do list my subject tests, do you think that will be okay?

@Marbas

Wow man, I don’t know about anyone else here as it has been silent, but I think you did a great job. That was really cool. I’m applying for film production too, you gotta get in with a video like that; everything fit perfectly the songs and everything. I hope to c’ya at USC in the fall!

"Determining Your Transfer and USC GPA
For the admission decision, all grades in USC transferable courses (including grades of “D+” and below) are calculated into the grade point average (GPA). USC takes into account plus/minus grading. Incompletes and missing grades from your transfer institution are treated as an “F.” Credit/No Credit and Pass/No Pass marks are not included in the transfer GPA.

If you repeat a transferable course, each grade earned in that course will be used to calculate the transfer GPA for admission. Further, USC does not honor academic renewal or academic forgiveness programs that allow students to improve recorded substandard academic performance."

WOMP WOMP :(

Is there a particular format for recommendation letters for Annenberg? :/

Okay, so Idk if this has been answered already or not, but I sent in my high school and university transcripts just this week and I didn’t realize that we had to send in the transcript cover sheets. Are they required by Feb 1st as a necessary document or not? The info on the cover sheet is the same as it will be on the transcripts themselves.

Anyone know? I’m kinda worried :/

@Marbas, I really like it! Good luck!
