Sometimes up to 4 times a day…LOL I told you…I’m psycho! ![]()
USC needs to make an app for it…lol

@reelfilm; yea my uploads were blurry and kinda weird looking too…I hope the admissions department can read them.

hey guys I have a question… under my application status it says, “We have received your application, and it appears we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items. Due to the high volume of application documents we receive, allow sufficient processing time.”

I then clicked on the document management system and it says They don’t need anything from me. Everything is there except my letters of rec…

Has anyone had this or am I the only one?

good luck to everyone!

btw…has anyone noticed any grammatical errors in their essay after submission?..im not really referring to all of the indentation problems…i just realized that i wrote “accept” when i meant “except”…i feel a lil sick about it…do you guys think it will be a big deal?..i cant believe i did that :/

One or two errors won’t be catastrophic. It’s not as if they are going to deny you because of a grammatical error.

It’s funny how you only notice errors after your application is turned in though…

I accidentally capitalized a word that didn’t need to be capitalized on my writing sample. Oops.

@MDG099

im with you! i check it 4-5 times. i’m going insane. the whole status message situation adds so much more anxiety.

and how many of you guys still don’t have your documents showing up in the document portal? I sent my college and high school transcripts in one packet about 2 weeks ago and a letter of rec a week ago. it still hasn’t been updated and simply lists the stuff i had submitted from high school. im really worried, anyone else in the same position?

To anyone who has submitted documents that haven’t appeared on the document portal:

Give USC a reasonable amount of time to process your documents. One week from the day your documents are expected to arrive is good.

Call the admissions office. Explain that you are a prospective transfer and would like to know if that thing you submitted showed up.

???

PROFIT

What would be considered a good GPA to be excepted as a transfer to Marshall?

^3.9 or so…

Everything MitchAPalooza said about the statuses is true. Let me just add one thing though - the system he describes reflects LAST YEAR’S statuses. The previous year’s status system, however, was different. Getting “being reviewed” followed by “acted upon” a few days later meant being accepted (no “forwarded” status). So… just keep that in mind, the system may change. But he is correct in saying that the important thing to look out for is the amount of time that passes in between that 2nd and 3rd change.

Again, anyone know anything about whether or not they’ll ask for Spring Semester grades?

I’m a physics major with a 3.7 currently with 48 credits under my belt (applying to CLAS, obviously). I’m taking about 19 credits this semester but I really don’t think I’ll be able to hold my GPA that high. I’m taking a ****-ton of hard physics/math courses (I’m the only sophomore physics major taking Quantum for example) and I’m going through a pretty bad depression right now, so I’m just stressing out and freaking out that they’ll see something like a 2.8 for this semester and change their mind about accepting me.

Hey guys, I am applying from a private university in Southern California. Do you think they might give a slight preference to students coming from a four year university because is they might have a more rigorous course load?

Julianne- I’ve always thought of that too. I go to UC Irvine, but I think they do put some consideration!

@CallofDuty84 I attended a transfer session at USC in the fall and the admission counselor directing the session said all transfer applicants were looked at equally because the question was asked by an applicant who goes to a prestigious university but wanted to transfer to USC.

Julianne41 - what private school are you presently? I do think there is some consideration in the fact that you are at a 4 year school…

sportslover- Oh okay… my counselor told me differently however when I met him in July. They say different things, its so confusing. Do you know anything about the Spring Admission vs Fall Admission?

A 3.9 eh? I know I don’t have a chance at that. 3.5 might be about the best I can improve to from where I’m at right now.

What does USC/Marshall look at more closely in terms of GPA: cumulative GPA or GPA in the business courses? Do I even stand a chance with a cumulative 3.5 give or take and a couple of "D"s or "F"s on my transcript?

@MitchAPalooza: Does the status “progression” change from what you stated in your post, if we receive a spring grade request? If so, how does the order or time frame change between status updates? Thanks for the info!
