I'm applying to USC for next fall and I plan on scheduling an interview to get a step up on the rest of the applicants. Can someone who has attended one of these interviews in the last few years tell me what they are like? I hear you need resume, do you? What type of questions do they ask? What are they looking for in future students? Also do you need to dress up for it?

Thanks for the answers

i dont know if you can do that as a transfer applicant. when i applied as a freshman the interview was alright. just be prepared to talk about your background ie extracurrics, resume if you have job exp. if you dont have job exp have a resume with your extracurrics. they asked me about my major and how i feel SC helps me with my future goals. this doesnt mean you spit out rankings and stats. just talk about why you want to be there and be passionate when you talk about what you want to do.

USC does not do interviews for transfer students.

The school is fairly small, and you can do a tour on your own quite easily, however. If you are worried that they won't know you went there (and had a lot of interest), then make notes about your tour and professors you met and mention them in your application. This is what my son did--including sending a copy of a printout of classes to take for transfer purposes he was given (in with his application, which he mailed in)--and he made the final round of transfers this year (although he was eventually rejected due to poor spring grades).

Are you a fine arts major? Because I managed to e-mail/call and get an interview.

i was wondering how much influence the interview has on the application. So, if i have good grades, leadership and all the important side factors, and i do decently well on the interview, does it guarentee my acceptance? I dont know about that.
