Hi, I am hoping to transfer this fall to Marshall. I have a 4.0 gpa at a community college with 53 units. The only thing is that I don't have a high school transcript, only a GED. Will this hurt my chances?

Anyone? Please??

im in your shoes sans the 4.0 ha you shouldnt have a problem if you got some work exp and some good ec's which CC you at?

im in your shoes sans the 4.0 ha you shouldnt have a problem if you got some work exp and some good ec's which CC you at?

I'm at Cypress College, and I don't have any work exp or ec's

I wouldn't worry, I mean I've herd of people transfering with 3.3's so ur 4.0 looks pretty good right now, high school diploma or no.

God, I hope so. USC is the only school that I applied to. It's my 1st and only choice.

My friend with a 4.0 recently got in USC for Spring 2006 for business major even though he does not have much extra activities or other things. Oh, he is international student, too! (it is harder for them to get in than for U.S. or California residents). What courses have you taken so far if you don't mind list them out here and what major?

I've taken a lot of gen. ed. courses, plus my lower division reqs, like macro/microeconomics, accounting, and business calculus. Oh yeah, my major is business.

Then you have a pretty good chance

Hey kevin, was your friend deferred and then accepted for spring? Because to my knowledge USC does not have a Spring semester application.

I don't know for sure but he just started taking class in USC like last 2-3 weeks ago and he told me that he was accepted for Spring 2006. May be he was deferred...

yeah, usc defers acceptance to spring if they don't have space in the fall.

Oh... I see. I'll see my friend to see if he is really deferred to Spring term and see how he is doing there, too.

cool thank you...im hoping worse case scenario i get deferred to spring.

Hey updated note: Yes, i asked my friend this afternoon and he confirmed that he is deferred to Spring semester and now he is studying at USC of course.

i'm in the same boat as you (GED) except i only have a 3.78, but i do have EC and work exp. Have you finished their two Required courses? because i was told that since i am currently taking their critical thinking req. i would not have a decision untill i get that grade which will be in like June.

Same here, I'm taking critical thinking this semester. I'm gonna have to get my teacher to sign the grade card.

two required courses?...which two courses?!

First year English plus a critical thinking course...
Yeah i'm also taking the critical thinking! Many of you are taking it too huh :D
