FightOn Guys (Corny I know) lol

Fight on! isn’t corny! It’s a great battle cry for athletes and academics alike!

Did anyone else get a personal phone call from the USC Norman Popping scholarship telling you to be sure to apply?

^ No. But I’m still applying for it! lol :D

Hey you guys! I thought I would share the little information I have! So, I talked to my counselor yesterday who called his friend at USC while I sat in his office. They said the scholarship letters were sitting pretty in a stack waiting to be sent out tomorrow, which is TODAY! So, all of the scholarship letters are out-- the letters to those not receiving scholarships though, are being sent out afterwards and will arrive sometime next week! I hope this helps!

So some people will receive their scholarship letters this week then. Will depend on the speed of the mail but still.

@stanfordboundkid I hope you’re not just saying that to get our hopes up haha

oh stanfordboundkid you are gonna make some people crazy! They will be losing sleep tonight and going nuts, and imagine the disappointment if nothing in mail tomorrow, then the next day…hopefully you aren’t jesting with these poor souls.

Letters of admission to the University of Southern California are enclosed in a large packet. In the packet is the formal letter, a certificate of admission, information about housing and meal plans.

In the past packets have been sent by the U. S. Postal Service PRIORITY MAIL.

Good luck!

oh my goodness…if that’s true, I will not be able to concentrate for the rest of this week. I’m not expecting anything either, but I just HAVE to know if there’s even a possibility that I could maybe get a scholarship. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I really want to find out soon!!

I’ve been cool as a cucumber, but now this thread is even making me anxious, and I’m just a parent. Not gonna pass on this info on to my USC hopeful. I think it may be better to be oblivious to this - I’m saying things like, we could know something in next couple weeks or April 1st, trying to keep it calm, he’s busy with all those AP classes, not much time to be distracted! I wish you all the best and luck. My oldest is there and loves it.

I just want to share what I know! Sorry if it makes you anxious!y counselor talked to bruce Grier who is the representative for San Diego where I live. I asked why they don’t send all the letters at the same time but I didn’t really get an answer. I believe it’s more of a because they can situation. So basically-- depending on where you live, if your getting a scholarship you’ll know by Saturday!

I empathize with y’all.
Omg so it seems like last year the first acceptance post was on JAN 25th for a student living near LA county (from last year’s usc thread)
Im freaking outtttt

Last year it took a few days, in some cases a week, for those packets to reach all the way across the country.

Could someone in the Los Angeles area call the admissions office to confirm this on Thursday morning?

IF you or a classmate receive a packet, please post!

Guys. I’m literally biting my nails off right now. All of this anxiety is driving me crazy!!!

So am I correct in thinking that if we don’t get scholarships, we won’t know anything until April?

Also: does anyone know the numbers on scholarship? How many are actually invited to interview?

To add to above question, is everyone that is getting any kind of merit aid notified in this batch going out soon or is it just the big scholarships? Sorry guys, I came to this party late, thanks for not making me read over a thousand posts to figure this out!

Everyone who applied by the December 1st deadline will receive a notification. You will either get a letter saying that you are admitted to USC and will be considered for one of the big merit scholarships (Mork, Trustee, Presidential) OR you will receive a letter saying that you are not being considered for one of these big scholarships, but will be considered for regular admission.

EEKS! So anxious now to find out! I was looking at the stats the other day, a few hundred are invited to interview…which is like nothing compared to all the people who applied by Dec 1st…

TIME TO HOPE FOR THE BEST AND MAKE A WISH EVERY 11:11! :)

So we are not able to see our status on USConnect? We will only find out by mail?
