I heard all the college interview shows is whether or not you’re really interested in the school. When I went on the interview, the interviewer just jotted down notes about my classes, ECs, and what not. Basically stuff that I already mentioned on my app. For that reason, I don’t think it will help me in the admission process that much.

Update:

This evening I checked the USC admissions blog. A post indicated seniors invited to interview for the major scholarships would be notified in LATE January. There was no exact date given.

omg. Late January?! That is soon…FINGERS CROSSED
I feel that my interview REALLY helped my chances. It seemed to go really well. I have pretty average test scores…and depend on my work and extracurricular activities. At the end of the interview, I gave the interviewer(the admissions dean for Viterbi, AH!) a sample of my choreography and I think the DVD will really help my application because choreography isn’t something that can be understood completely through words alone.
I interviewed in Seattle and it felt fairly relaxed which was nice. :)

^^I INTERVIEWED IN SEATTLE TOO!!! And I also felt like it helped my chances

They don’t offer interviews at my location sadly.

So roughly 2-3 weeks till decisions are released for interviewees? Sounds good.

“So roughly 2-3 weeks till decisions are released for interviewees? Sounds good.”

I don’t think its for interviewees but rather for people who are selected who they would like to interview for scholarships. I don’t think the first optional interview affects your decision time at all.

They don’t offer interviews where I live either. I’m going to do a lot of hope and praying these next few weeks! lol I don’t really care if I get the trustee/presidential scholarship, I just want to get accepted, and if I somehow get a pretty good scholarship, it’ll be the icing on the cake! :)

I have the same mentality!

I also just want to get in… The waiting never seems to end…x.x

Guys, when we get in we will have our little ring of college confidential buddies :’) lol

I have a pretty mediocre SAT score, 1810… But I brought this up in my interview and she said, exact words, “I won’t make any promises at all, but you definitely have my vote no matter that score.” That being said, I have a 3.87 uw GPA and am Student Body President.

And that was the Assistant Admissions Councilor to Annenberg. So if anything the interview helped a bit. I wonder how the do it though… they vote on each applicant? Idk, I’m not relying on anything, but GOOD LUCK EVERYONE GAAAH!

LOL, I had no interview and my GPA/test scores are exactly average for USC. Not to mention that I didn’t realize until I submitted my application that the common app essay that virtually lets you write about ANYTHING is part of USC’s supplement, and mine could have been a bit better.

Well, deuces USC. What up UCSB?!

Mmm, does the interview play any part for admissions towards USC? I know mine went pretty well and such.

I’m also a USC hopeful, first choice university and crossing my fingers u_u

Anybody have any ideas for me on how not focus on USC these next few weeks? lol :p

Does the Assistant Director of Admission, or assigned regional counselor, help with admitting people also? Sorry if this seems like a stupid and weird question. :o

I CANT TAKE IT!!
oh wait…we still have a few months -_-

Is anyone here who is from UK and is applying to USC? I’m still doing my A’levels but me and my friend are planning to apply for USC And still don’t know how it works

I interviewed as well but it didn’t go really well or really bad. The interviewer just asked me some basic questions and took notes nothing spectacular like “oh you’re in I’m gonna make sure of it” but I wasn’t expecting that either. Honestly, I have a good GPA but low sat scores (high 1800’s) so I’m not technically USC material but I just wanted them to know how interested I am in the school and that if given the opportunity to go there I would in a heartbeat regardless of money I would find a way to finance an education there.

Suzanna,

Please go to the USC website, University of Southern California, click on undergraduate admission. The DEADLINE is January 10. Included in the requirements is an application, short essay, needed transcripts, etc.
Private universities in the U.S. are expensive. Do read about the costs involved as an international student.
USC is one of the more popular choices for British students who wish to study in the U.

S.

American student living in Germany. Applied to Annenberg. This waiting is killing me!

I’m from Georgia and I applied to Annenberg for Communications. USC is my top choice! My stats are pretty much in the range but my test scores are a little low (1280/2000 SAT, 29 ACT) do you think the essays are a big deal? because i am a good writer and that may be what gets me in. Gosh i hate waiting so long to hear back!

I really hope to get a decision in late January. Kids who get the big scholarships get their decisions (and an interview request) in late january.
