USC Class of 2017 Applicants!

Angeline,

Some students just read individual posts and not an entire thread. I was trying to prevent students thinking the merit scholarship deadline for freshmen applicants had been extended.

One of the happiest days for volunteers on this board is when seniors receive letters of admission and post their excited comments on the SC forum!

I applied to the USC School of Dramatic Arts as an Acting Major (BA Theatre) before the scholarship deadline! I hear they come out next week! Freaking out!!!

EEKS! It is coming so soon! I havenā€™t gotten accepted anywhere yet so it would be nice to hear back from somewhere. :/

I canā€™t wait to hear something from usc!

I applied by the scholarship deadline from MA ā€“ hope we all get good news over the next three weeks!

I hope we all get in too! Hopefully weā€™ll hear some good news in the next two weeks! #freakingout

iā€™m so nervous! do you know the exact date we find out if we applied by the dec. 1st deadline? one of my friends asked an admissions officer and she said that weā€™d hear by january 20th! that seems so soon! is this correct?

Well last year people got their letters from late January til early February, depending on where you live.
If you live in California or near USC, expect to get your letter next weekend or the following week! (it was like that for the last few years!)

@yolokid123 thanks for the response! i live like 15 minutes from USC so Iā€™m hoping to hear back soonā€¦ the suspense is killing me >.<

@eatsleepstudy
I live in los angeles too! I hope we can both get in and be happy!

Has USC sent any promotional things such as little post cards or information about signing up for the FAFSA? I havenā€™t received ANYTHING from USC since I applied through Quest-Bridge. Should I call the office to verify my address or something? I have a funny feeling that I might not receive a letter from them within the next few weeks. :worried:

I received a letter to apply for financial aid. It said to apply, ā€œno need to wait for an admission decisionā€. I applied Jan 10th, does this mean they could still consider merit based?

I am getting sooooo unbelievably anxiousā€¦ just a few more monthsā€¦ or days if admissions accidentally thinks Iā€™m worthy of a scholarship

never mind, found answers in past posts :p

If they said end of January, does that mean that we will be getting some sort of letter in the mail soon? x.x Whether it be a letter for a scholarship (sooo unlikely) or a letter telling me that they are still considering meā€¦I am anxiously waiting. :)

I read in some other threads that if youā€™re accepted, USConnect will say that your admissions decision has been sent and thereā€™ll be an Explore USC option available under eventsā€¦has anyone gotten that yet? My admissions status just says Sent :frowning: but I donā€™t even know what that means!

Mine also just says ā€œsent.ā€ Does that mean they are in the mail?!?! omg.

Most of us have the same message. However, I think the ā€œSentā€ part is the header of a column. For instance, if there were any messages, there would be something like a checkmark, ā€œyesā€ or ā€œno,ā€ or a timestamp under the ā€œSentā€ column next to the message.
Also, mine says ā€œYou do not have any messages at this time.ā€

^^Same here.

Does anyone know if only applicants who get the scholarships receive letters in the mail by the end of January, or is it all applicants who applied by December 1st (even if you donā€™t get a scholarship) who receive letters? In other words, if you donā€™t get a scholarship will you just not receive anything in the mail telling you that?

I just checked for my D and it does say ā€œsentā€ and there is an Explore USC option under events. But we never even looked there, so we wouldnā€™t know if that wasnā€™t there in the first place.

The only other thing that concerns me as that we sent the CSS and FAFSA. They received the CSS and not FAFSA.

Iā€™m not freaking out my daughter with this, sheā€™s too busy studying for midterms/finals.
