*******USC Class of 2020 Results/Discussion Thread**********

Does anyone know about the International Freshman Academic Scholarship results? Has anyone received it yet?

I sent off my application in January and I am an international student. Are all decisions, asides from those who applied for scholarships, released on April 1st? Does USC ever sent out admission decisions in batches?

I haven’t heard anything back ever since I applied, except for the few responses to emails I sent with questions.

Is a 2050 SAT score too low? My EC’s and International exam grades are good and I can cover the costs financially. I love everything about USC but I’m starting to think it was too far of a reach :frowning:

@StilesStyles here is the link to the transfer thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1801383-2016-2017-usc-transfer-p25.html

Hey everyone. I’m new to this thread. Quick question, I’ve submitted all my FA stuff back in the beginning of Jan (I applied for the reg deadline on Jan 15th). I just checked my YouSC account and saw that on my financial aid page it says my application is being processed (has been like that for a while), but I never noticed that when I click it it now says “Freshman Aid will be available in April”. Additionally, it was just updated and it asked for my parent’s tax information. Do they do this for all applicants? Does it mean anything? Thanks

It means that the FA office , which is part of the admissions , MUST get your parents tax information in order for ANYONE to continue to process your application.

So get them to fill it out pronto.

“Freshman Aid will be available in April”
This is a generic info for ALL FA applicants.
It does NOT mean you have been accepted.

Does USC ever finish applications early and send out decisions before April 1?

i just got an email from the financial aid office telling me to send additional info so that they can process my app. is this a good sign or did everyone get it?

^^This was just answered two posts above. No. The departments are separate.

Also the the email from FA. It says that my CSS Profile is missing. But I sent mine out in December… Anyone with the same problem?

^^SEND it again.

they obviously cant find it.

International as well! Last year they mailed out packages on 25th March and updated online on 27th March. And no, I don’t think the decisions will be released in batches.

I got the financial aid thing too. I think everyone gets it. At least that’s what the financial aid office said in the email.

Thank you for the answer hzy0216. I sure hope they release them early this year!

Everyone gets the financial aid mailer. Here’s some info I put in another thread, but also putting here because this one is more active. Acceptance packets all go out at once, you will see a pic on admissions Facebook when they do.

ACCEPTANCE PACKAGES:
For 2015 March results, packages were mailed on Tuesday, March 24, and started arriving in some locations on Wednesday March 25th. Most received them Thursday, the 26th. In 2015, USC did announce they were mailing both rejections and acceptances at the same time. However, large colorful acceptance envelopes are sent priority, while rejections are thin typical white letter envelopes sent regular first class mail, so they start arriving a day after acceptances.

PER THE POST OFFICE, THEY ARE REALLY ACCEPTANCES sent in BIG ENVELOPES, NOT A PACKAGE:
Acceptances are sent in a large colorful envelope that is NOT trackable, via USPS. It is NOT considered a package. It is just a large envelope for mailing purposes. btw, USC posts a picture of envelopes leaving the office to their admissions Facebook page. It has been bright yellow with red over last few years.

REJECTION LETTERS: Rejection letters (mailed regular first class mail) started arriving on Thursday, the 26th in Socal, one day after acceptance packages began arriving that were mailed Priority.

PORTAL UPDATE:Status was updated on portal just after midnight at 12:10 am on Friday morning March 27th.

The portal changed and was updated to look like this:

INTERNATIONAL:
Packets go DHL and typically take 3-4 days to central Europe as a frame of reference, rejections letters can take up to two weeks (International only) cause they are sent regular mail. Portal updates long before the rejection letters arrive internationally. Sometimes it seems they get international envelopes out to DHL a day early because I see some internationals posting they get a package in those first couple days as well, but can’t confirm that, just a guess. Do not know about ability to track DHL - not sure if that is option they offer.

Disclaimer - they could change things up, but they usually do it the same year after year, this is just what I know having been through it a few times, including last year.

Thanks @CADREAMIN! I’m praying for a big letter from USC, but I know that it’s a big reach for me. Wishing the best for everyone

Anybody getting this? “We are unable to locate your record in this service database, please confirm your USCID is valid (it should contain 10 numeric digits) in the My Profile tab of USConnect. If this problem persists, please contact us ). Error code:ID2”
I need to send financial aid stuff so the error message is making me nervous…

Yes I am getting that error too. Looks like their website is down.

I just logged on and got the exact same error message. @imlikeabird2 maybe their servers are down?

Edit: Just saw there was a reply to that. But yeah, I wouldn’t worry. Just try again later today and if it’s urgent call them

Alright, phew! I already emailed them, so hopefully they aren’t too bothered, haha.

To add to @CADREAMIN’s last post - acceptance for SPRING admission comes in the same big colorful envelope as the regular fall admissions. Some will be happy just to be admitted and others will be disappointed - especially after getting excited just seeing the big envelope.
