USC does not have a waitlist. They use the Spring Admit program instead, and that is announced alone with all the other decisions. Your friend is either lying or mistaken.
Does anyone know if USC considers your alternate major/if many people get into their alternate choice? I applied for engineering but I know its very competitive and put a slightly less competitive major as my alternate. Has there been instances whereby people have been admitted into a certain college within USC but undeclared?
@mash97 I was wondering the same. I applied to the World Bachelors of Business Program just for the heck of it, but since only about 45 or 50 students get selected for it, I don’t have a chance. Hopefully my alternate major is considered instead of admissions just ruling me out right there and then for my first choice.
Last year scholarship decisions were released March 20th, the Friday of the week after the final explore USC event. Does that mean we should expect our final decisions Friday March 18th? Or will they probably wait until the 20th or even until the next week to release decisions? We are all only speculating here, I just want to know what you guys think!
Sorry, we found out she meant UCSC and made a typo. :o}
@southeastkid I’m betting on 20th, but I could be wrong
How do they release scholarship decisions? Email or portals?
@southeastkid My Explore USC host told me that she received her scholarship decision on the same day that she received her UCLA admissions decision…going by that trend, it should be the 18th this year.
@Spicykins LOLLLL
Scholarship decisions were indeed posted Friday March 20 last year, you should see them in a couple days on the 18th! (I may have posted 22nd before, sorry, got my years mixed up! They always post on a Friday)
The scholarship decision is under “Admissions Decision.” There should be another “message posted” above your original admissions decision letter.
@CADREAMIN Can you give us a clue on what time? [-O<
@whynotnow I’ve heard midnight, but I’d expect sometime in the morning at latest
It was posted online between 6:30-6:45 am last year on Friday morning (this Friday) for scholarship decisions.
For regular decisions they posted on Friday at 12:10am (this would be NEXT Friday if they hold true to past behavior). But most will get letters or packets prior to the portal posting of regular decision.
By scholarship decisions do you guys mean decisions for those who applied before the merit scholarship deadline?
@coldplayer98 no scholarship decisions for those who were invited to interview
Well, the portal was down after midnight last night. I checked this morning and it looks back to normal, but I think something is happening!
Well theoretically, some of us could start receiving decisions via mail a week from today. Fingers crossed!
@filbierto does this basically mean if we weren’t invited for the interview (got the message in January saying we weren’t getting the big scholarships), that we won’t get ANY scholarships at all?
^ wondering the same thing
Is there any way to get merit scholarships even if we didn’t submit by the 12/1 deadline?
