What are y’all gonna do to fill the void of rejection?
@chukrook can we get a reference link for that
Probably just cry and accept my fate. Maybe have my parents buy me some fast food.
@darkhound173 it’s on their Facebook page- “USC Admission”!
It’s on facebook. look up usc admission
It’s on their usc admissions fb page. @darkhound173
oh thank you
@notrel52 They do want to see you’re really interested in USC. We toured the campus last summer (we live in CA), and also went to a USC event in San Francisco in the fall. We had a breakout session with SCA admissions and she stressed many times it was very important to indicate on your application your specific interest in USC. I also took my son to another art schools expo, and USC was there. The gal asked if we were going down to their open house in Nov. (I think). I said we didn’t have the time, and I asked if it was really that important. She said they do look at that and it makes a difference. Doesn’t really seem fair for those who can’t attend, but maybe in the end it doesn’t matter. Who knows? He also had a phone interview with prof. who said she really liked his creativity. This process is so stressful on these kids (and parents).
I toured the campus, and went to an info session the same day, plus did an in-person interview. Do y’all think that’s good enough for demonstrating interest? Also I wrote my essay very personally about the campus for how I would pursue my education at USC. I loved it there so much and I think it really shined through in my essays.
According to the common data set, level of applicant interest is ’ not considered’… But who knows

Has anyone who has applied for engineering received a letter from Senior Associate Dean Louise A. Yates? I received one and it seems personal, however I am not sure if it means anything.
I live in NH and haven’t had the ability to go to see USC but I have gone to events here I hope that is something!
I’m not prepared for a rejection letter. I’ll probably end up framing that instead of my acceptance letters.
So they will not email an admissions decision at all?
Decisions go up on the portal on March 26th I believe @Zburg45.
Hopefully, USC will send out letters tomorrow. By the looks of its Facebook, the admissions department looks like its ready to go with the acceptance/rejection letters. And maybe we’ll get the portal updated this Friday in the morning instead of Saturday morning?
All of you guys preparing for rejection: don’t be so hard on yourselves. Regardless of USC’s decision, you are all exceptionally dedicated scholars (proven by this forum) and any college would be lucky to have you all. Admissions counselors are just people; they make mistakes, too. Not to mention, with the competitiveness of college admissions today, and in the nature of applications, some unique aspects of your character is always left out. Don’t let a rejection letter define who you are.
But, in my opinion, there is ALWAYS hope! If you look through the old forums, there have been some SURPRISING acceptance stats. Don’t stress out too much; take a few breaks from CC every now and again. Good luck!
Not 100% sure, but I think last year, USC sent out decisions a day earlier than they said they would, so it certainly is a possibility! @supbros111
What do you guys think is more difficult to get into as an out of state student? UCLA or USC?
AGH I cannot handle this. I am going to just stand at my mailbox for the next five days until I know for sure.
