@pleaseacceptme99 omg I was thinking of doing the same thing :))
Thanks, perhaps with the new interim dean this year, they are doing things a bit differently.
Oh god, I am too nervous right now guys!
a month ish ago i received an email from USC saying
Thank you for your strong interest in the University of Southern California and for submitting your admission application to our freshman class. We have completed a preliminary review of your application file and are writing to request further information.
Specifically, we would like to see the results of the first term of your senior year course work before we take final action on your application. Please take a moment to submit your grades directly to your application file by logging into you.usc.edu, with the email you used when you submitted your application. If you are unable to use the web form, you may submit your grades using the Common Application Midyear Report or mail your courses and grades to the USC Office of Admission.
We hope to receive this information by early March to allow plenty of time to meet our commitment to notify you of our decision by April 1. It is important that you use either the online process or submit your grades by mail, even if you believe your grades have already been sent to us. We receive lots of mail every day, and these methods will help us quickly identify your information so we can begin preparing your application for final review.
Thank you for your prompt response. I wish you well in the remainder of your school year and look forward to working with you further.
I have quite a handful of friends around me that applied to USC who did not submit their midyear report at that time either, but I was the only person received that information. I was wondering if anyone else received this too and if this is a good sign? btw im an SDA applicant.
@bigd21 USC does request midyear reports from all applicants- if you did not send it in a timely manner the admissions office would send that email. Your friends must have sent them or perhaps were overlooked, but yes, you were supposed to send them like every other applicant. Not a necessarily a good sign, just admissions office doing their job.
Is it possible for kids in the LA/Orange County area to get them tomorrow if they are sent out or Wednesday?
@majesticmarmarr Thank you for the response! However, I am absolutely certain that non of my friends submitted their midyear report at that time.
@cahopeful2020 I think that by the time the packages are processed and everything, the mail trucks will have already gone out for the day. So, whether they are sent out tomorrow or Wednesday, I would expect people to start receiving them the following day. It may be possible, but it’s unlikely IMO.
Assuming they are sent out tomorrow, in state students will most likely be hearing back starting Wednesday/Thursday
Is anyone else in the stage of panic where you’re basically questioning everything you’ve ever written on your application or said in an interview because same
Since they’re doing boxes instead of envelopes, does that mean they’ll be trackable this year?
Yes. I just want to know already. I mean getting mail is great and all, but would it be so hard to just update the portal? It’s not like they’re not decided.
I read through the 2019 thread and it just made me even more anxious reading about people getting their acceptances
No, I believe those are boxes full of envelopes. They are not sending boxes to each individual student.
@outlawsrcool yes I got the dramatic arts open house thing! That huge pamphlet right? Hopefully it’s a good sign???
@mayamcg that’s what I thought at first, but then why say “yes, boxes!” as if it was something that should be significant to us?
I’m in a state of “listen to Amy Winehouse, do one physics problem, read CC, cry” until I get a response honestly LOL :-B
@ManhattanSubway Switch out the Amy Winehouse for Adele, and the physics for Comparative government, and add in some comfort ice cream, and I am right there with you.
it also says the boxes are stuffed with admit letters. so im guessing they just emphasized boxes to stress that there are many of them.
my advice would be to relax and not worry about it too much! Box or no box, we’ll find out in a couple days!
@choirsandstages
I doubt i’ll get any sleep this week
