@imvegetarian2016 we might have the same zip code both living an hour away from SC in SoCal - your mail gets delivered earlier than mine unless I meet the guy at the post office in the morning… otherwise you’ll be the first to tell everyone you got the big envelope - no coal allowed
I wonder if USC still hand delivers some of their letters.
I can’t stop checking the portal, as if it’s gonna change before Friday or Saturday :(( I don’t really think I’m gonna find out before the portal update (since I’m in rural Georgia) and that bothers me so much.
At least you guys don’t live in the Caribbean
I once read somewhere that high school students today have the same stress levels as psychiatric patients in the 1950s. I don’t know if that’s true, but this college application process hasn’t done any good for my anxiety levels hahahhahah…asjkldhfskadfhjksdahfjklsdfhkasdjflksadf;sdj
I read an article on the Daily Trojan saying that envelopes will be color coded this year depending on whether the student is a fall or spring admit. Does anyone have more info on that and whether it was actually implemented?
What the heck does color coded mean? Will fall admits get the packages before a spring admit does???
Color coding sounds helpful. So according to the scholarship admits, we could probably assume fall admits will have red packets
guys please chance me really quickly i know this is so annoying and i know admissions are random but if you guys can …
gpa: 3.68 UW (very strong upward trend)
SAT: r+m 1440 total; 2150
5 APs
amazing recommendations best friends with teachers
really good extrac (LOT of volunteering) and passionate essays
major 1) math + econ major 2) psychology
from new york and had an interview and showed a lot of interest
@college7465 Your only “weakness” seems to be your GPA, but I guess it can be overlooked as USC is holistic.
Here’s the article http://dailytrojan.com/2016/01/14/spring-forward-fall-back/
According to this, spring admits will have gold envelopes whereas fall admits will have white ones. The article is a few months old though and it says that students would be notified beforehand what the different colors mean but as far as I know, that hasn’t happened.
“Students tend to have lower scores”
Is a 28 ACT (31 R 33 E 23 M 23 S), while not in the middle fifty percent, considered “low” for USC? Even with passing scores in six AP exams, five more on the way, a class rank of 17/382 and an acceptance to UCLA? My parents just wouldn’t let me live in an apartment my first year…
Update on life guys: there was a knock at the door, and due to the open floor space plan of my house and there being a large window above my door, from the second floor of my house I saw it was the mail man. I TRIPPED down the stairs running to go and get it, twisted my ankle, realized there was no possible way it could be USC anyway, and signed for a package for my mother. =D>
Does anyone know the stats for spring admits from past years?
Chance me for spring admit? Double legacy (both parents), 31 ACT, 3.61 UW very strong upward trend (4.0 since soph year), 3 APs, amazing EC’s and strong essays (at least I think so)
I want to post my stats because I want to know my chances but I’m scared someone is going to tell me they suck and I’m going to get rejected and I know my fate is already decided so I’m just gonna sit here and stress with you guys because none of my friends want to hear about college from me anymore
ok is this an admissions myth or do they actually compare you to the other applicants from your school? Because one of my friends got a scholarship (not the ones you interview in CA for though) and the others have higher scores than me
Imagine all the people oblivious to CC that are going on with their lives and will be surprised when they get their packet tomorrow. Their life is peaceful right now.
Those predicting they are out today are correct btw, some of these posters have been part of this process for years and know how it’s done. Socal get ready, you are first up tomorrow. Good luck all.
@blueskies2day I’m jealous of the oblivious. It’ll be a nice surprise for them; meanwhile, we’re all stressed to the point of injury!
but seriously everyone in my life is sick and tired of hearing me stress you guys are the only ones left love you i’m adopting you all as my new family
