***USC Class of 2021 Discussion/Results Thread***

@Ketchup1 at midnight or so you will find out what it looks like, just like everyone else will. Be patience young grasshopper

@WWWard Sending you and your daughter some positive thoughts now. Hope she gets in. If not, can’t you write the admissions office to make a final plead? Having read so many of your posts, I can see that your family sounds like an excellent ambassador for USC. It’s crazy if they reject your daughter.

@charcoalatey2021 Thanks. Love Sarasota. We go there often.

@Swooosh Thanks! Now you see… there, you already have a nice cinematic story. congrats.

@Ketchup1 They make it clear by changing the whole page… you won’t be able to miss it.

@PrimeNumber2 Thanks. I doubt that they read CC or care. It would of course be great if they did. IDK… I am pretty fatalistic. I cannot see the validity in trying to appeal when they are in essence also rejecting a total of 47K (84%).

Thx

@WWWard Would your daughter consider TTP?

@charcoalatey2021 Congrats! It doesn’t say my major…only says that I’ve been accepted to the Mellon College of Science! How about you?

Hey y’all!

I have been a lurker on this thread for quite some time now, but have not posted anything for fear of jinxing my decision (don’t ask me how that makes any sense lol).

However, I received the biggest surprise of all today–I was accepted into USC for the fall term (I’m from San Diego),
Thought I’d post my stats for future applicants that will one day stalk this thread!

GPA (W): 4.1
GPA (UW): 3.8
SAT: 2050

So, so proud of all you guys on here…you guys deserve it, you really do.
To those who have not yet received mail, I am keeping you in my thoughts and sending positive vibes :). Best of luck tonight.

@museoffire IDK. If offered, I presume we will of course discuss it. But she worked on that application packet and all SCA supplements - including script, film, etc - from Feb 2016 thru early Aug 2016 and was likely the very first applicant to submit - given that she was waiting for the ComApp portal to even let her hit submit. She submitted on Aug 2nd and has been waiting ever since. I think she made her case pretty clear. If after all that, they still say NO - well, then that may be the answer we accept.

@nat7531 congrats!

Apologies for asking a basic qn amidst all the stress - what is the exact portal address? the link I am following is asking for a netid …so not sure if am looking at the right place …

@wormholes I was accepted to the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences :slight_smile: I applied for psych but I’m not sure why they don’t explicitly say the major…??

@nat7531 congratulations!!!

@WWWard @methlabrador thank you both so much!!

@WWWard …thank you very much. Have been lurking for a while and been following the developments on your D side - sincere best wishes.

one more hour for portal decisions???

58 minutes to go after 6-8 months of waiting… :open_mouth:

My daughter received her acceptance in the Tampa Bay region today. However, you know the mail system here is quirky. Hoping the white box appears on Monday for you.

@nat7531 you’re welcoime

@valent2016 you’re welcome and thanks

Regardless of the verdict in an hour, I echo the sentiments posted by @blueskies2day earlier today (well Saturday). This admission decision notification system is antiquated and needs to be abandoned. Even if one poor soul misses an expected delivery during their zone, that undue stress for a day or two is not worth the supposed joy and glee that can only come from opening a box. Believe me, on the 30th, 1000s of admitted students to the Ivies will be plenty happy and 100% of them will find out online.

@MommaLlama thanks. If the portal update is positive, they can throw the box in Tampa Bay for all we care lol :slight_smile:

Accepted for SCA Film and TV Production for the spring semester!
GPA:
W- 4.30
UW- 3.78
ACT- 33
SAT- 1320

Had an interview

@mrowl7 Congrats!

You are going to an amazing place and program!

That is what my daughter is or was seeking too.
