USC class of 2023 Applicants Thread

@chicclassic @philo11 @Samhal @idontkno @InstantKarma123 and anyone else I missed

Congratulations again! Any of you happen to be SCA?

My daughter is a freshman at USC. We signed up for informed delivery last year. However, informed delivery gave us no prior indication of when the acceptance box was coming. It was not scanned by the USPS. It came on a Saturday. We had heard that two other students in our town and received their white boxes that morning. We therefore searched for our mailman, and when we found his truck, he simply told us that he had already made his deliveries to our house. But, we also saw the hint of a smile when he said it. As we pulled up in our driveway, we spotted a white box leaned up against our front door. It was a great moment! She is having an amazing year, and is very, very happy at USC. Good luck to you all! (However, remember that wherever you end up, you can be happy. There are many, many wonderful schools.)

@romns116, not SCA. We haven’t opened the packet yet but its supposedly Computational Neuroscience

@philo11 @InstantKarma123 what specific city do you live in?

@idontkno Congrats! What city do you live in??

Thank you! I’m in Rancho Palos Verdes, about 30 miles from USC. :slight_smile:
I’m in Dornsife!

Also, my parents sent me the picture, and I’ll open it when I get home!

Anybody in Northern CA got a package?

@SlimJim005 It sounds like you’re feeling frustrated, and understandably so, about your admission denials. The application decisions can seem a bit random, especially when you think that the odds are somehow stacked against you in favor of others. However, there are no quotas in college admissions. Believe it or not, but wealthy, first generation, and URM applicants also get denied spots to their dream schools. Hopefully, you’ve applied to a good mix of schools. If so, you’ll surely get accepted to one where you’ll have a wonderful experience.

USC is a reach for everyone. My DD already knows that if a white box doesn’t arrive by tomorrow, it is not a personal rejection. I also don’t see the point in speculating about how many [insert whatever demographic you’d like] students were accepted. It diminishes the accomplishments of others and just makes you unnecessarily bitter.

Congratulations, in advance, to everyone who gets in! My fingers are crossed, but I’m anything but overly optimistic after seeing this year’s acceptance rate.

@chicclassic oooffff i live in pv too! hopefully when i get home a package will be in my mailbox! ??

anyone from Los Angeles?

PLEASE POST CITY AND STATE (OR AREA IN SOCAL) WHEN YOU POST ABOUT YOUR PACKAGE!

thanks.

is it fedex or ups?

Does anyone know if Trojan Transfer Plan applicants can get their admissions decisions the same time as first year applicants? I know the guaranteed date is by early May, but is there any way to get it this weekend?

Spring admit yellow box, 12:40, south OC area

I suspect the reason USC Admissions is not posting or reposting acceptances is the trolls of the internet who would find humor in trashing those posts of happy people. SO sad as I enjoyed seeing those happy faces last year.

@fcollege1234567 Neither - it’s USPS.

Good luck to everyone!!! When I got in, my USPS informed delivery showed me the packages that were coming, but said one didn’t have a picture (that is because they can’t scan USC’s package). Thought I’d help!! Best wishes!!!

@gukgyulie they can get it very close to reg decision but it is certainly inconsistent. I would set expectations out so you don’t lose your mind.
