mail came, no box in Maryland… guess it’s 3 rejections in a row
Box received at 1pm on Chicago’s south side! Annenberg School for DS19!
Thank you so much!
^^^ you’re welcome
The package from USC that I saw on USPS Informed Delivery this morning has arrived at our house in Westchester, NY. My son was admitted to Thornton School of Music for a B.M. in Jazz Studies!
Has anyone from Maryland received a package?
I’m super late to this thread. What’s going on? Are people receiving their decisions in the mail? Do rejected people also get mail? When will decisions be released online?
@WWWard @CADREAMIN will S19 be able to submit his deposit after the portal updates tonight? Thanks to you both and the few other experts that offered so much advice and support in this thread. Fight on!
@lkbux64 congrats! clearly, we can now say that Thornton for two years in a row has a different delivery methodology that is in fact traceable via informed delivery.
@nigeluno Yes… via USPS Priority Mail. Portals update today at 5pm pacific.
@jimbobcharlie you’re welcome. yes. there are many links for those admitted online… including to commit and post a deposit.
Thanks for sharing your experience. But I can’t see going to a school where you might not be able to pursue your intended major. What if your daughter hadn’t gotten into SCA? What a mess that would have been. Do they have statistics for internal applicants anywhere? That would be great if they had info like that somewhere.
My D’s packet came yesterday in Orange County, CA yesterday at 10:30am. She opened it when she got home from school. ACCEPTED to Dornsife! Her stats were:
4.5(W) 3.91(UW)
34 ACT
11 AP’s (did not submit AP scores or SAT subject tests)
WF Catholic High School
Lots of EC’s (basketball, debate, criminal justice club, tutoring at elementary school, +)
Legacy
We feel very lucky as there are so many qualified candidates. Very happy about the new president Carol Volt, she went to High School with my best friend in Akron, OH and I’ve heard nothing but great things about her!
Best Wishes to all!
My son’s white box came this morning. NorCal, Bay Area.
@Momofseveral10 You’re welcome. She would have applied each semester until they gave in and let her in I presume lol. Not that I have seen. I just know from hearsay, especially here on CC over the years, how each program is much easier to gain access to through internal transfer. We were also told such by her AO. And as SCA is the university’s most competitive school / hardest to gain admission to, it stands to reason that if it is true there, it is true at all schools within USC. In her case… they let her in even before the first semester was concluded… so before they knew how she was doing at USC. But each program is different. Many likely want to see how you are doing at USC academically first. There is likely an internal transfer webpage with details for the program(s) your child is interested in…
Any Washington acceptances?
USPS Informed Delivery indicated a package was sent by “MERCURY MAILING SYSTEMS” ( contractor used by USC before) in Los Angeles on March 21 —tracking shows delivery scheduled for Tuesday (DC metro area)
