Myth 2: Online courses do not transfer

DEPENDS: California public universities such as UC and CSU do not limit the type of delivery of the course, therefore, online courses will transfer. Private universities can limit transferability of online courses. Currently, USC will not accept online courses for foreign languages and science labs as meeting their general education requirements. Courses will still transfer. USD will not accept any online courses, however, it is not notated on our transcripts. If you are concerned, contact the university you wish to attend prior to enrolling in an online course.

Does the UC priority application thats due Nov. 1-30 for all UC's and CSU's apply to USC?

No. You may submit the SUC application any time between now and February 1st.

p.s. The Nov.1-30 UC dealine is not 'priority' it's final and everyone has an equal chance, give they submit it on time.

how long did it take for usc to inform you if you got accepted or rejected after you turn in your app

Me?
I'm a prospective applicant, I don't go there 'YET' :D .But I have lots of friends there. Most of the ones that transferred, received a request for Spring grades June 1st for sure, and only one of them who had a 4.0 got the admission offer the same day. The ones that sent in their grades were finally notified July 1st.

p.s. If you are rejected you'll be notified for sure June 1st.

pps. SCorbust - love the name! lol, i feel the same way :)

i didn't get in until july 5. i swear it was the longest summer of my life up until that point

thnx woman of troy! good luck to you and hopefully if you get accepted our football team will be #1 again.

nonstopskratchin: I was thinking about it for a while... but no. Instead, I'm going to one of those Discover USC off campus events. Are you going?

i know. :)
i can't wait to wear face paint, lol.

tresfleur- go to a transfer session, it's really tailored to transfer students. I've been to Discover USC for two years in a row and it's pretty much all about the freshmen. But it's also good if you really want the feel of the campus, I suposse, bc the band come out and it's this whole big thing.

^ That sounds neat. Yeah I just got off the phone with USC. They wouldn't let me make a reservation for Discover USC because it's for freshmen only. So much for that. lol

so just to be perfectly clear, if i already have a USC ID Number (that lame 10 digit number they give out) from when i applied for freshman admission straight out of high school last year, should i use that? or, should i get a new one since i'm applying as a transfer? if so, how do i get a new USC ID #?

You don't have to get a new one.

Sorry for giving you the wrong advice earlier, lreds4life. Woman.Of.Troy is right. You don't need a new one. The lady at USC found me through my old ID.

Yeah I made the mistake of making a new one, and now I have to call to delete the new ID. :P

thanks for the clarification :)

so i don't even have to make a new username or password either? just stick with what i had for freshman admission along with the USC ID #?

If you were accepted last year, but didnt go and are applying again, you dont need to make a new usc id and such. Just fill out transfer update form and send it in. Also you dont have to pay again

You DO have to pay again actually. You'll see they prompt you to imput your credit card information, lol.
