USC Fall 08 transfers

elvenqueen10- transferable courses are listed at
usc.edu/articulation

CCC:Los Angeles City College
GPA:3.92
Units:about 53 now, 68 by end of spring
Major:Communications
GE & Core requirements done.

I guess I have to use the pre-approval form because I go to a private ny uni.

yes?

if there's not articulation agreement you should contact a transfer admission rep in your area... i will mail you the rep's specifics it's kinda rude to just post them on here, lol.

Question: If the FAFSA isn't in by the priority deadline what happens? Just the admissions notification process will be a little more delayed right?

turning in your fafsa has nothing to do with the admissions process since it's not a requirement. i filled out my fafsa a week before the fall semester started.

I just don't want to get a really bad deal. :P But I guess as long as I do it in a timely manner. Thanks, SCorBust.

Dang, everyone has like a 3.7 and above... lol. I'm screwed.

How hard is it to transfer into vterbi?

first of all, i applied for freshman admissions last year and was accepted. someone told me that they can just reopen my file as opposed to applying over again. does anyone know about this?

also, i was reading on the website about the whole two semesters of writing. at my current college there is one big writing class and if you pass it, you've finished your writing requirement. there isn't much else offered (that i am aware of). does anyone know how this will affect me?

KLind26-
Yes. You go to your app and do an application update and they pretty much use the same information just the term is changed. One of my best friends was accepted as well but due to depositing a substantial amount to money for an apartment in SB she decided to stay at her univ. 1 more year. She was told to do the application update online.

A word about updating your app (since I'm in that boat):

You go through the admissions process again, meaning you could potentially lose admission. There is no new application fee, but you must complete the update form, and send any new grades.

Now, keep in mind this was for transfer admission, so they may have a different policy for freshmen.

Hope that helps. :)

For those not at California schools who want to check on which courses transfer, I suggest you use the following link:

After filling out part II of the USC application online, what else do I need to turn in?

Is it my partial college transcript, and list of planned courses?
is there a link where I can find out that information?

theicon- USC Undergraduate Admission: Admission: Application Forms
you must turn in forms 6 & 7

Thank you.
I'll request a transcript from my current school, and have them send it to USC with form 6 included.

I'm not sure if I imagined this because now I can't find it on the thread...
are official score reports for sat/acts required at USC?

Not for transfer students with more than 30 units of college coursework.

applying to engr..working on transcripts now, can I send all high school & college transcripts in one envelop? and how to cfm admission rcvd them? ...

leonin626- I just talked to my admissions officer and he said I'm able to mail the high school and college transcripts together in one envelope, but make sure the cover sheets are attached. Also, he told me to call this number to see if they have received the transcripts: Call (213) 740-1111, then select option 1, then select option 3.
