USC Fall 08 transfers

So I have three weeks to finish everything. Plenty of time right?

yup my essay is under review right now but yeah we got enough time to finish stuff

great! tks, usc24! best luck!

so if you don't have 30 credits RIGHT NOW, then you have to send in scores? Cause I'll have 30 credits by the end of this spring semester. Does that count?

page 2 says,
Transfer units
'We require no minimum number of transfer units. If you have earned fewer than 30 transferable semester units, our decision will be based primarily on your high school record and SAT or ACT scores.'

So about re-submitting my application and not having to pay the fee...
I signed on to the website and went through the whole ordeal again
but I didn't see any part about just resubmitting my application.
It seems to me I'm going to have to do the whole thing again and pay again.
Am I not seeing something?
Thanks....

BUMP pleaseee

GPA: 2.4 (But most definately working on it)
Units: 30 transferable + 30 other
GE: Mostly
Pre-Req: all except for Calc and Econ 2, which will be done in Spring
EC: Cross Country, Track & Field, Wrestling, Band (High School & Spirit of Troy)
Work: Disney Hotel for 5 years, and doubletree hotel
Legacy: None, 1st gen
Applying to: Marshall
2nd major: Econ or Public Policy
current school: Santa Ana College

I just need some advice. My GPA is low, but I'll have it at a 3.0+ after this spring semester. I've completed the requirements for Marshall. Also, I have a strong personal statement and personal experience (work, involvement, etc). What are some things I can do to gain admission to USC. Its my dream school, so i'll stop at nothing until i get in. Also, I played with the USC band for about a year, will that help my admission?

Usually they will send a spring grade request around mayish. That way, you can submit grades you just completed.

However, if straight A's during your next spring semester can't help your admission, they will outright turn you away in May. So expect either spring grade request, rejection, or acceptance in May.

anyone know when is the EARLIEST an acceptance letter can arrive? An under what circumstances? [as in, what kind of applicant would get accepted early]

Last year, the first batch of letters were sent out mid-May. Spring grade request came out early June. Final letters went out late July (people who sent in spring grade request).

From what I've noticed from 2 yrs ago and last year.... people got rejected or accepted mid-may for the FALL. If you don't get anything then, expect spring grade request early June. Then if your grades are consist, you'll get accepted for SPRING of next year.

If you want to know if you got accepted early, you can cheat (like I did). Constantly login to the enrollment commitment page. If you can login, your for sure in. You can also check OASIS. If your star reports get updated, your for sure in.

WOW. Ok, thanks a lot! How intense. Yeah, I see a lot of people do the whole roundabout way of finding out if they're accepted. :) haha.

I was talking about sending in ACT and SAT scores. I'm a freshman right now, but I'll have over 30 credits by the end of this spring semester, so do I still have to have my official SAT and ACT test scores sent?

Another question. Is it okay to mark undecided for your major. will it hurt me at all even though I'm only a freshman and would be entering as a sophomore? I would think it would be unwise for entering juniors to mark undecided, but what about me? And if I do, what would you you guys recommend I do for the short answer that asks about academic pursuits and intended major?

Yes, no matter what, you have to sent in your SAT/ACt scores and your HS transcript.

When I was at transfer orientation lunch, we were divided up by our majors. The "undecided major" tables were quite full. Probably around 20 students outta 400?

The majority of people I saw were business (5-6 tables with 10 per table), accounting (3-4 tables), and communications (3-4 tables).

woohoo. communications. :) what's your major Doryx?

I applied as a bio. We only took up 2 tables. The biochem and native american tables were hilarious. They broke out the kids table or something. It only sat 4 people per major. Just imagine a room filled with 35 large tables and 2 tiny tables.

I have a dilemma and need help. One of my professors wont be finished with my letter of recommendation until next week. Since admissions wont receive it by Feb. 1st, should I just drive to USC and hand it myself to admissions? It's driving distance because I'm from Orange County.

u don't have to submit recommendations by Feb 1st

its just the application part thats due

Thanks! That was a relief.

Are we required to send in letters of rec?
