USC Fall 08 transfers

Thanks a lot for responding so quickly!

Yeah this is super stressing. mainly bc duh, the deadline is this coming friday. secondly because it's my #1 choice. 3rdly, i'm only applying to two schools, so not much of a choice, right? lol.

What are your other schools?

just UCLA & USC :/ haha

i have a question regarding the 30 unit completed by springs thing..right now im on 14 credits this semester..which would mean i will have 29 credits by the end of this semester..this is because at my current college a lot of the courses are 3 credit for some weird reason..does anyone know whether this would be a problem? like would they look at my SAT scores n all just because im missing 1 credit?

If you do will not complete 30 units by the end of your spring semester, then yes, they will primarily look at your high school and SAT records. It all depends on how many units you'll have by the end of spring semester. If you'll have 29 units by the end of spring, i really suggest that you take another elective class or something because that would be a big waste. Hope this helps

Okay. So I think I have very little application work to do in the next week. I feel much better now.

womanoftroy- USC is my first choice too and the only other school I applied to is Boston University. Are you going to request for your college transcripts again?

does taking like a PE course..like weight training...like would that be considered a elective?

Update: What a relief! USC admissions finally received my high school transcripts, now the only thing they haven't received is my college transcripts.

I haven't even applied yet. Going to do so on Jan 29th.

Look at the articulation agreement and pick a class that you think would be easy. USC ARR : Articulation

Hey I have a quick question. Do I have to get the counselors at my high school to send my transcripts and letter of recs? Can't I just do it on my own? I asked for my transcripts like months ago..

A question:

As of now, I am in a dilemma. I plan to apply to USC like the rest of you, but I am not sure whether I should apply as a sophomore or junior. Here is my issue:

My first choice major is Music Industry (B.S.) at Thornton, yet I feel that my chances there are essentially doomed, considering how few they accept. Even though the only thing that remotely interests me is this major, the only other conceivable second major that I would take is Business Administration at Marshall. But I am one prerequisite short and I still need to take a class or so before I get to that prerequisite. So my dilemma is this:

Despite the fact that I am finishing up my 2nd year at my CCC (and graduating this spring from there), should I apply as a sophomore, so, if I don't get into Thornton, I can still be accepted into the university undeclared? Thus, if I get in undeclared, I could finish up the requirements for Marshall and then apply in-house? My current transfer GPA is 3.76 and, as the end of Fall 2007, I have completed 36 transferable units, which the GE's finished.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

usc24-yes i requested the college transcripts, emergency. i'm actually going down to USC and turning in my packet, don't want anything to get lost again!

matthew m -- when do we hear back from thornton regarding admission? (i assume you made the dec. 1st deadline).

Feuerwerke - I'm not too sure. I talked to someone about a month ago who is currently a USC student and tried to apply to the same major and they said that they don't typically look at the application until the application to the university is under review or decided... take that for what it's worth. Having said that, I believe I also heard that an interview might be required and could happen sometime in March? Again, I'm not too sure.

Good memory on the deadline! Did I make it? Yes and no. I ended up mailing it out on 12-1-07 and explained some of the personal circumstances that caused such and they were O.K. with it, so I dodged a bullet.

Is there a way we could talk privately, say through an IM service? There's a lot more I am curious about regarding this.

Feuerwerke - Just got the notification that you sent me something and my box was full. Sorry about that... try now!

Does anyone know what the competition is like for Marshall?

Does anyone know what the chances are of someone applying to a major that doesn't have transferable pre-requisites? I'm going to put Asian American Studies as my second major but its not on the transfer major sheet.
