USC Fall 08 transfers

2 questions.
1. what are the toughest majors/schools to transfer into USC, please rank them if you can.
2. will usc reject you if the two majors in the application are competitive and you dont make the cut, if they dont do they let you know what school you're placed under?

Answers to questions from liek0806:

I've heard the two toughest are the Cinema School #1 and then the Marshall School of Business (#2)--probably in particular if you are a finance major.

And, yes, they will put you into a different school if you so indicate. That's why you are asked to list your two major choices in order. If you can't get into #1, then they try to put you into #2. I don't know what happens if you can't get into either or these, but I'm guessing in that case you get rejected from USC overall.

Annenberg is also very tough to transfer in to. I've heard they take about 9 transfers a year

Also I stopped by USC today to drop transcripts off. And to confirm Torran's post earlier there is no deadline for transcripts. The most important thing is getting the App in Feb 1st. Additional forms just need to get there eventually, no specific deadline

Submitted! WHEW.

Happy Friday guys!

Hi guys,
I am filling out my transfer app to usc rt now and had a question...
for usc you dont input all of your academic history(grades) as you do for the uc's? I dont see any space to put them in on the online app?
thx.

Ok i've looked over this application like ten times already. Five times with a friend, and five times by myself. I think I'm ready to submit this sucker. Jesus, I'm nervous.

Finally, I submitted my application. I read over everything about 20 times hahaha Hopefully I'll get into the Marshall School of Business.

submitted my app today. Applying to USC Engineering. Does anyone know how hard it is to to transfer into Viterbi compared to other schools?

I kept procrastinating writing my essay so it feels good to finally get the app out of the way. Good luck to everyone.

Hey what's the deal with the supplement for Marshall? It says on the Marshall website that it's due March 1, but on the admissions website it said it was due on Feb 1. I'm calling to find out, but it's just weird.

My gut feeling right now is that I'm getting dinged at USC. I had good essays, but I really needed more time to revise them. It was too hodge-podgy.

Yea, I saw that with the Marshall application deadline as well. I think it's March 1st but I will be ****ed if it was due Feb 1st.

In the spirit of being the extreme procrastinator that I am, I have finally submitted the application at 11:49 P.M., PST!

Best of luck to everyone. While a part of me feels so HEAVILY relieved that this is all done, the waiting game has just begun.

Aw crap. I submitted this thing like 3 days ago and I just checked the status thing where you can see what documents they received and what documents they need. Looks like I forgot the College Transcripts Cover Sheet. DOH!

edit: just faxed it over :)

I thought I was the biggest procrastinator, perhaps, the contrary is true
I submitted mine at about 8 'o clock yesterday but I have been working on it since the past month - filling it little by little.

Just going to file Financial Aid...

laguna- annenberg is competitive but they definately take more than 9 transfers a year. given that about 1500-1800 enroll as transfers students to USC it is likely that at least a hundred should be annenberg students.

lreds, how did you know what has been received and what has not?

well when i go check the status on this <a href="https://afa.usc.edu/AFA/login.jsf%5B/url%5D">https://afa.usc.edu/AFA/login.jsf</a>
it doesn't say it's received any of my fafsa or css stuff tho i did it. i'm assuming since the deadline just passed that admissions is really stuffed and a it behind with the processing. just wait a couple of weeks!

I got lucky because they received my fafsa, profile, and custodial parent form already. The only thing they haven't received is my college transcripts, which is really irritating me!

i'm assuming it's because i did the fafsa jan 29th and css feb1st. last minute stuff and all these applicants, i'm sure it'll take a while.

i sent in my application already but have a question: we need 30 units for usc to not look at high school grades, but if i have 30 by the end of spring semester, how does that work? Do they just read my essays first and then wait until i send in my spring grades or will they probably just base my apps on hs grades cuz i would only have 19.7 units without spring semester?
