yea i agree with pakiboy too. 50% of the students at USC are from out of state. This is significant because a majority of applicants are from california. also, they state over and over that there is no preference.

will do j3nnyyx3.
I am literally checking at least 3 times a day but no luck in clearing that yet. Like I said, I'm going to give it the exact 2 weeks they told me to wait, if not, I'll call. :P

dang, i've called usc twice now and both times the ladies there have said to re-mail the required items. (online says i STILL haven't sent my transcript cover sheet). i'm not going to, of course, because like all of you here, i have -proof- of my mailed items and am pretty sure they are still being processed.

i just wish she could've given me some comforting words like 'oh just wait a coupla weeks. you'll be fine.."

instead, i have to find comfort in two things: chocolate and CC. ;)

I find comfort in the fact that I have a Stats test tomorrow. Wait, that's no comfort that's a distraction. :( lol.

im finally done with FAFSA... but CSS left... darn!

USC admits a lot of out of state students. Most out of state students want to go to California schools because they are arguably the best right behind Ivy Leagues. UC out of state tuitions is the same as USC, so people just go to USC. Most California residents end up going to UCs vs USC cuz its cheaper.

I know a bunch of people from Colorado, New York, Hawaii, and Korea in my classes.

Yay, yay, they're processing away.

They've received one of my rec letters, and both my college transcripts now. Only a few more things to go then I can relax about them getting all my stuff.

On Oasis it says i need to turn in a 2007 tax return for myself, but I won't file a tax return, and I stated that on FAFSA and CSS. Also I submitted FAFSA right after CSS but they still haven't received my FAFSA. This is probably just another one of those issues with oasis.

Question: is there a fee for CSS profile you have to pay to register?

Just out of curiosity how many of you on this thread are currently college freshman? I'm a freshman film production major currently attending Chapman University and hoping to transfer in the fall. I applied to USC as a senior in high school for fall 07 and was rejected so I'm trying agin. I just finished reading most of your posts and it's weird cause I never had any problems with USC not getting my application materials. I did have to send my app. in early because I'm a film production major, so maybe that's why? Does anyone know if it's particularly difficult for freshman to transfer... especially freshman from private california universities? My Chapman GPA is 3.73 and my combined GPA (not sure what that means exactly but it does include a cinematography class I took at USC two summers ago) is 3.78. I also chose Interdisciplinary Archelogy as my second choice major... I do have an interest in this, but my uncle who is a teacher at a private high school in southern california said the USC reps like to see diversity in terms of the majors prospective stuents choose, so it shows that all their energy isn't focused in just one area... dunno if that helps but I know around this time is when any tidbit of info means a lot :]

scarletstar89, I'm a freshman... and I'm a sports management major at my current school (looking to go into business or econ). Diversity!!

trojans14- Neither am I. But in that case you must fill out the Student Non-filing form and fax that in as well.

torrancecali-there is no fee to REGISTER. But there is a fee to submit and send to colleges. I payed I think $25 to have it be sent to USC.

ya usc is all about diversity... my boyfriend goes there and we always get annoyed with the fact that while i didn't get in (i'm from california) out of state ppl with similar stats as i had (in high school) got in, esp. people from hawaii and texas.

what is this css profile everyone is talking about?

j3nnyyx3- go here: USC Financial Aid - Applying & Receiving Financial Aid - Undergraduate - New Students
see step #2. that is what everyone is talking about in reference to CSS Profile. It's for financial aid.

does anyone know the earliest transfer decisions come out? is it really as late as june?

Do they look at your parents' tax forms if you are independent of them? I was filling out my CSS profile and was wondering why they'd need my step-dad's info when he doesn't support me. Does what he makes affect what I'd get in financial aid?

can anyone post their "received" list if u think u got everything?
mine looks kinda weird. it has
Doc being filed; bar code not read.
and college transcripts is not on there, but the coversheet is.

but under required nothing is listed.
help anyone? >_> this is confusing

Coversheet=college trascripts attached to them

Mine used to say they didn't get the coversheet and that was all I was missing, supossedly. I checked this morning and it still says we received your app. but we need more info. and then there's nothing listed under forms you need to submit.... random.... ???

lol woman of troy u better mail them
it would seem weird nothing is listen but they still require something.
"we require the intangible >_>"
