I absolutely hate to be one of these kids who posts near-perfect stats and then asks for "chances", but....anyone? My only negatives really are poor h.s. grades/SAT's and I dropped out of college my first time around. Thanks.

Since I have really only been following the IGETC, I probably won't have satisfied what USC asks for, correct? What do they ask for?

how hard is it to transfer into the school of medicine? i'm interested in majoring in their health and disease degree.

i need a help deciding my second major...
anyone know which one of these majors is the least competetive?
economics, political science, sociology, architecture, music industry, and public policy management and planning.

sociology all the way!

I'm thinking of transferring to SC next year too. Does anyone know if they want political science majors to do advanced calc? I don't think it's required but would it help admission chances?

"Since I have really only been following the IGETC, I probably won't have satisfied what USC asks for, correct? What do they ask for?"

Anyone?

Since my son doesn't like posting on here, but would like to know his chances, I'll put up his stats as a USC transfer candidate:

GPA: 3.48 overall (3.59 at Indiana, 28 units), (3.00 at Virginia, 6 units)--should be closer to 3.57 overall by time of application (January) since he expects to go about 3.75 this semester

cheba- your question is kind of vague...

cheba - it depends on what classes you've taken to satisfy IGETC. a lot of IGETC certified classes also satisfy USC's GE reqs. try checking USC's articulation page on their website to verify.

I'm a freshman at Emerson College and I just started my first semester. I was reading through the first couple pages and I'm kinda lost.

I'm a film major btw.

I'm not even sure I have a science or a math class. I got a waiver for math since my math SAT score was good enough.

So is this bad for the GE requirement?

USC's film program is the best of its kind and I really want to get in.

What are some things I should start doing now?

http://tinyurl.com/292tyj

So I have to complete I, II, III, V, the lower division writing course, diversity, and the language requirement?

cheba630-yes, also any additional requriements regarding your specific major. Also, some majors don't require a language requirement.

So I just completed the Part I application, but I have one question. I did not take the SAT's, would that look bad on my application? If it is, should I take the SAT's this year?
Also, did anyone get a response back after they submitted their application? Not the automated response.

Haha, well it looks like I won't be applying, I have practically none of that stuff completed :(

usc24- it seems like SAT/ACT scores and high school GPA dont matter if you have completed 30+units at CC. I went to this USC transfer session, and that's what the instructor said. I havent taken SAT like you havent, and i am not planning to take it unless if it is neccesary. I did confirm my information from two different sources(one from USC and the other from SMC counselor), so i believe the information i got is pretty reliable. But if you happen to hear different stuff, please inform me!

oh, forgot to post that you still need to complete requirements for eng and math.

for the part 1 app. if we are eligible for fa how do we state it.
