hopeful918-
I think it's too early to determine. No one has got any kind of decision yet so I doubt they'd be asking for spring grades yet. That is said to come out June 1st, right?

woman.of.troy

thank you for your reply, i appreciate it :)

thanks relient for the response. i heard this is the hardest year for admissions ever. isnt that crazy haha ? my luck

mmck- i am missing my high school/college transcript ever since the beginning what is this....

I'm going to be mad if the letters aren't even sent till june 1st. I'm leaving my roommate in a bad apartment situation the longer it takes to know where I'll be next year.

crazykumar- is it? drat. figures =)

Like I mentioned earlier, going back to the waves of admissions from a couple of years back, it gets ugly and stressing with the long wait even on CC =P

The fact that they have just recently cleared up OASIS and are really late on processing isn't comforting... but we'll see. (!)

Hey guys, I'm a freshman applicant but I'm 99% sure I'll get rejected, so I'd like to know what the deal is on transferring in.

Is it advantageous to do so from a local CC, as many here are doing, or would it be better to go to a 4-year-university like UMiami (which I got accepted to) and then transfer in? Which would give me a better shot? I don't really care which I go to, money's not an issue and I'd be just as happy going to Santa Barbara City College as I would UMiami.

Torrancecali- On S's, the 'College Transcripts Cover' required reappeared sometime between Friday and Sat. Below the 'items received' in My Admissions Checklist area, are 3 lines of transcript acknowledgments. S is in 4th semester of college, so I think the reappearance means they have decided (either Viterbi or USC) that they are going to need that (transcript for spring grades). In your case, have you sent them a transcript for each semester/quarter and have they acknowledged receipt for each in your checklist area? And have you allowed sufficient time for them to process? 3-4 weeks is not too long. You should call them and go over it if it doesn't make sense... Also, they will not clear it unless they receive an official transcript directly from your school(s).

acarey, truthfully I'd recommend UMiami. You might even end up liking Miami a lot and staying at UMiami. I was a CC student, and if you were to go your chances at being accepted to USC from Miami and the CC are pretty close to the same, but the problem is, you miss out on a lot of fun and the whole college experience. It also sucks telling people you go to a CC. Go to UMiami, if you don't like it transfer.

Cool, thanks for the advice. That's probably what I'll end up doing, only CC I'd consider would be SBCC since I could live in IV and have a lot of fun, but you're right.

okay i send my transcript 1month and a half ago... i guess it should arrive... thx by the way

i got a question..
is it ok for sophmore transfer applicants (current freshmans) to select open 'still deciding' as their majors? haha i remember reading somewhere that it is ok for me to do that, however, i cannot find that anymore and it is making me abit nervous.

does it mean im just applying to get into college of letters and arts?

Thanks!

manutd4eva- Yes it's ok. and Yes you are applying to CLAS.

The downloadable cover sheet to fax our transcripts consists of three pages: one of which tells us to list some courses. It seems odd to me that this page only has room for like six courses . Do we choose which ones we list or should I list all of them with some of them in the white space on the page? *** is the purpose of this page and why does it ask us to list courses when were faxing them our transcripts anyway. Id appreciate any help.

officesapce- The regular cover sheet that I mailed in a couple months back had the same thing. I don't know why they make you do it if you're sending in your transcript right with it, doesn't really make much sense.

But, on the one I sent in, the directions stated to list courses that pertained to your intended major. In my case, I am applying to Engineering, so I listed my calc courses, comp sci., physics, and my introduction to engineering courses. I did a quick glance at your old posts, and it looks like your doing Computer Science, so I would say that you should only list courses pertaining to that (math, comp prog, etc.). If you have more than six major relating courses, however, I'm not sure whether you should list them or not. From what I hear, the cover sheet is not really all that important anyway.

i just spoke to a counselor... she said that the first school that furnishes admission decisions for transfer admisison is Marshall during the month of April.

so for letter&science majors they get notified june.1? or may 28th?

m.kenien or anyone else- What about Annenberg? Do you know if those decisions are released at a certain date?

question-i applied to CLAS as my first choice (french) with my second choice under School of Theatre (BA track) from SMC. will SOT notify me about my second choice BEFORE i find out my decision from CLAS? i'm thoroughly confused, and since i did have to send in a supplemental for SOT, i figured they may send me a notification earlier than CLAS would.

and also, does anyone know if they started working on transfer applications today? i know they have been really backed up, but i'm getting anxious and i have to wait for three other schools...but like all of you, i REALLY want to go to USC! it's been my #1 since i was in the 8th grade.

My status has been "under review" since early February so I believe they are working on transfer applicants. It just seems that there's a record number of applicants this year so it may take longer than usual for us transfers.
