USC Fall 08 transfers

so if i was a freshman in college now doing 2nd semester and i wanted to xfer for junior transfer, would i apply by Feb 1 2009 ?
and whats due in oct?

yes kmizzle, that is when you would apply by. The optional part 1 of the application is due in mid-October. It's just basic information like your name, address, intended major, etc. so that they can get you into their system. It makes things easier for them, but if you don't get it done it's not supposed to hurt your chances.

lets move on from that question

Thanks Laguna. My problem is that I never signed up through the OASIS that shows th STARS report so... yeah... bummer I get regular OASIS. :P

woman of troy--- So you figured it out? Or is it just hopeless at this point?

Hopeless.. I just never signed up or registered through that site, and I tried to put in the handful passwords I use for everything and it didn't work so I can't even login. Did it work for you?

Not at all. I think Laguna is already a student... because it is required to have USC email. So if there is some way to register a USC email then we can access it.

lol I'm not a student. I have no idea how I have it though. I remember having a problem getting it because they needed ur USC id and bday and stuff to sign up for it. I just don't remember where or how i did it. it was a while ago

RelientK - have you heard anything? Today the 'tax returns required' and needing review, got cleared and moved into received. I think the spring grades request ought to be next, because the college transcript needed is still there.
If you get in, will you go to Miami or USC?

Do they usually require your spring grades?

Also, is it easier to get in as an economics major campared to applying to business, and if you do get accepted as an econ major, how hard is it to transfer over to business considering I have all the business pre-reqs done currently.

j3nnyyx3, if you're currently taking the equivalent of WRIT-140, they will need to see your spring grades. the admissions counselor in charge of my CCC said they will not admit you unless you've completed the second-semester english and the minimum math requirements. if you're taking them this semester, then be ready to send those grades off.

i took accelerated comp a year ago. Doesn't that satisfy the requirement for writ 140?

bump bump...

j3nnyyx3, you'll have to check your articulation agreement with your present college and USC (i.e. at SMC english 2 or english 31 satisfy WRIT-140).

I hope I don't get screwed with the writ 140 thing because my university only offers one academic writing course. It's the equivalent of most colleges second semester freshman writing course so I hope that fulfills the writ 140 class or that at the very least they won't reject me because of that and make me take writ 140 at usc.

im on the same boat..i took the all college english requirement so thats basically the only english course u need to take (unless its your major)... and i remember a USC rep telling me that if your uni only offers one lower division english course then they will be fine with that

i remember that too, manutd4eva. the USC counselor in charge of my CCC does the transfer day presentations and said the same idea, but i would double check the articulation agreements or talk to them to double check.

Quick question for those who know a little bit about Thornton: I am applying as a Music Industry Major (B.S.), and on Tuesday, they called me to say that they wanted to interview me today. Should I take this as anything meaningful or is this just part of a standard process with all applicants in this major? Don't want to get my hopes up.

Thanks!

its good. im a transfer and i was asked to do an interview as well.

note that its just a step in the right direction. its not a sure thing. When i had mine, I felt it was them trying to find out who I am.
