It sucks that your EFC's are high, regardless of how much your parents make it's not like that means they have money to just give away at random.

ditto. I'm worrying about getting accepted first.
:/
And then about getting accepted soon. Following the last couple of years' threads, it can be as early as mid-April.
=)

^^ yeah, i'm not really sure which is better: worrying and fretting about whether or not i'll get accepted OR worrying and fretting about how i'll pay for it (assuming i am accepted)

at least, the latter will be accompanied by a feeling of accomplishment :)

sigh im an international student so there is very little chance that i will get any sort of aid.. that means if i do get accepted i have to fork out 51 grand a year.

i'm in the same boat as DJS3CA/RelientK. i wouldn't get aid even if i tried. i think next year i may try to file to just see how it'll all work out, but since i'm not paying room/board and have a place in LA (my parents cover my rent/expenses/tuition at my CC as long as i'm full-time and i work outside of school), i'm glad it will be a little bit less, but damn.

i just want to know SOMETHING.
does anyone know dates/order of people finding out? and if you applied to a professional school as first and/or second choice if they will notify BEFORE CLAS does?

On CC I've seen the near 4.0's get accepted to CLAS as early as mid April through Mid-May. Everyone else just floats around until then and it gets ugly when spring grades are requested.

Even though my D is a 4.0, I am still concerned that it may not be highly regarded from the University of New Mexico, as there are probably plenty of 4.0s from higher rated schools. Sigh....

P.s. I have no one else to obsess about this stuff with. All of my other friends are at 4 year-uni.'s already. To the point where I have more Bruin friends than Trojans on Facebook, haha. And the only other person I know applied to the same pool of schools seems really confident. :P I unburden my worries on all of you.. lol.

Woman of Troy- Is a 3.7 after one and 2/3's years at a 4-year university considered 'near' 4.0 in your mind? just curious what you think about that.

Also for everyone who sent in student and parent 2007 Fed Tax income reports. Which fax cover sheet did you use? i can't find the right one at the OASIS financial aid site to download? please let me know for those who faxed them in already?

Just for the record Viterbi doesn't inform of a decision by April 1st. Unfortunately for us, they only "notify of our status" by then. So all of you engineering applicants (including me) can stop holding your breath, because they're basically just going to mail us something that we can check online anyway. The good news for us, however, is that Viterbi supposedly begins giving out decisions sooner than the other schools (at least that was the case last year).

Thanks, Woman of Troy. But I think a 4.0 at a California community college is faring better than a 4.0 at Univ. of New Mexico.
I have no way of knowing how many kids (if any) apply there from this state, and if it would be a geographical advantage (okay I am grasping at straws :)

4.0 at a California community college is not any better than a 4.0 at an out state school. Remember, USC is a private school and they do not give preference based on residency.

i don't think they have agreements.. its just that more people apply from community colleges so naturally there will be more people accepted from those colleges

Articulation agreements don't give guaranteed admissions, I think they are just an agreement of what classes transfer? I'm sure womanoftroy knows exactly what they are though haha
