thanks woman of troy!!! i got my account set up. But not STARS record available.. =(

ksbr- I did put down a second choice major, which was also in the CLAS (English). When I received my acceptance letter I was told that I was accepted to my first choice major. The second choice was not even mentioned.

I'm not sure how it works though if your first and second choice majors are at different schools. My guess is though that your second choice major is reviewed only when you are not accepted into your first choice. I could be wrong though.

Just so you all know that you can contact your admission counselor. They are the most qualified people to answer these types of questions. Another thing that a lot of people don't know is that if you receive a request for Spring grades, which most people will, you can still change your first and second choice majors. You can do this by contacting your admission counselor. If I were you ksbr, I would start getting to know Mr. Bruce Grier. He is very nice and extremly helpful.

Here's a link on how to find your admission counselor.

USC Undergraduate Admission: Counselors: Your Admission Counselor: Transfer Territory Managers

j3nnyyx3-
Yeah I get nothing either. I think it's because they haven't reviewed my parents taxes. & it's wayyy to early to know anything anyway. =P

i know right? they're probably going to start looking at our apps this week, or at least that's what the counselor said. I turned my parent's taxes a couple weeks ago too and on oasis it's under both required and pending.
This wait is way too brutal.

Does USC accept intro statistics for transfers? I can't seem to find this on the transfer website.

So basically, if you have financial aid rewarded on OASIS you're in??
or do they just figure that number out for everyone that applies.

financial aid package does not necessarily mean that you are in

sunshadow-yes they do.

j3nnyyx3-Nice! I was reading the freshmen boards right now and they JUST finished sending the last batch off. My goal is to NOT check every darn day and just wait week by week. It's crunch time! And yes, that's the theory, they wouldn't be offering money to people that aren't admitted. The old admit boards for the last couple of years have followed that pattern but SCorBust may be right. Sometimes as well, if you can make your orientation commitment payment, that means you're in as well. There's little random ways of finding out. =)

Thanks, WOman of Troy. You've been great. Why didn't I see it on the transfer website? Was I looking in the wrong place?

Find your articulation agreement here.
Look through the big list of all transferable courses..

USC ARR : Articulation

My community college Stats that I'm taking now (Math 227 on the articulation agreement) is transferable.

thanks SCorBust! i have talked to Mr. Grier a couple of times (re: a grade appeal thing that has successfully resolved), but i didn't really even consider asking him that question. i will pen him an email in the next few days just to figure out what to say!

Woman.Of.Troy, i may have to clone you to have you around all the time to find the tips and tricks of the unofficial acceptance! (i still can't register for the main OASIS though, but maybe that is become of the whole non-financial aid status)

No prob. I'm neurotic enough to find this all out and read through a bunch of pages of people freaking out in the past :P. Yeah, I should really get in touch with my regional rep. lady too. But I have nothing to say except: So am I in???!!! lol.

Don't worry though, apparently the freshman applicants were able to log in but that didn't necessarily correlate with an offer of admissions.

wait.. so even if you recieve a financial package, it doesn't necessarily mean that you're in? Then what's the point of people trying to cheat by checking for a fin aid package online?

Sometimes as well, if you can make your orientation commitment payment, that means you're in as well.

Woman of troy- what does this mean? what tells you that you're in? i'm a bit confused.

j3nnyyx- i remember last year that somebody received a financial aid package and was not admitted. this is what i based my response on

the first unofficial way to find out if you are accepted that woman of troy is referring to is if you are able to log onto this page. if you can log in then you are in. this is the way i found out.

Thanks SCorBust! What are some other ways to know if you're in or not and when do you think we can start finding out?

That's the only sure fire way that I know of to find out if you are in before you get your acceptance letter. People are gonna find out at different times. For me, I received my request for spring grades in either April or May and I didn't even receive my acceptance until early July. The June prior to that was the longest month of my life.

Scorbust - what was your GPA prior to the request for spring grades? I am trying to narrow down if all transfers get asked for them or not - have seen diff responses to the question.

kind of going on sunshadow's question, how many units did you have completed? right now i have 66 units at 3.45 and at the end of the semester i'll have 78 completed with either a 3.51 or a 3.6 depending on my grades.

i thought all transfer decision was supposed to be out by June 1st?? No?
