USC Marshall Vs. UVA McIntire

I’m trying to make my decision as soon as possible and wanted some input before I finalize it.

Both are currently the same cost, but it’s possible that I may be able to get in-state tuition at UVA for years 2-4 (I’m OOS now in MD, but my dad’s job is based there and he’s thinking about establishing residency) which would be a big plus.

However, I’m currently leaning towards USC due to its 4-year program (it’s nice to have the guarantee instead of stressing about getting into McIntire, not to mention it also allows me to take business classes earlier and have a leg up on internships) location (I’ve always wanted to end up in SoCal and USC is a pretty good regional target on the West Coast) and general atmosphere (it’s more diverse, lots more to do and seems like a more enjoyable four years).

Since I am aware that McIntire is much more of a target for recruitment (especially on the East Coast) I wanted to ensure that it’s not a mistake to pick Marshall over it; I really enjoyed my UVA visit so I certainly wouldn’t mind going there, but I probably want to end up on the West Coast and I just vibe with cities more. I’m also considering attempting to transfer to McIntire after two years at USC so I can save money and have a better degree while still getting the West Coast experience, but I realize that it’s much less likely for me to get in as a transfer than as a UVA student, especially with the Marshall curve (which I’m also interested in learning more about, as I’m worried that inherently lower GPAs will hurt job/internship opportunities).

It’s a difficult decision and I don’t have much time to make it, so please let me know if USC’s appeal is worth the drop in prestige/if transferring into McIntire would be impossible.
