@RoysGoin2College - Yes, do appeal - the worst they can do is say, “no.” Thank USC for the award they presented and then state that you just cannot make the finances work. Ask if they can take one more look at your information and offer to provide any further information. If you think your home equity is adding a significant amount, double-check your home value estimate to be sure it is the lowest reasonable estimate - sometimes we let our pride of ownership make us think our home is worth more than our neighbors. Look up some comps (comparable home sales) in your neighborhood (a real estate agent might be able to help your parents) to see how close you were.

As far as Cal Poly, that is about the finest back-up plan anyone could have! A-lame-mom’s lame-husband is a proud Cal Poly graduate and he LOVED every minute and got a great education. I refuse to feel sorry for you! :)

To those that got accepted, how long did it take for the financial aid info to arrive afterwards? Given that we have two weeks to enroll from the decision date, I really hope they send it soon.

@trojan4lyfe How are you guys able to do these things. I called about being admitted into a Marshall major and they told me that the university handles Marshall admissions and basically that there was nothing I could do at this point

@Spiffyb0i I have not gotten notice back and I pretty positive I submitted my housing application last Thursday, the wait is killing me…I also have yet, to hear back from financial aid which only escalates my stress :(

Got my financial aid today; so happy because I can definitely attend! @fightingtitan they took literally forever when they requested more tax info and when I provided, it took literally a week, yesterday they updated saying I don’t need anything else and I recently got my financial aid today.

@IRforlife Thanks for the update Hopefully within the next couple of days I’ll get notice, it’s just difficult waiting when you’re holding off very important plans.

I was wondering, do you know what the process is in from telling your current university that you will no longer be attending?

@fightingtitan - Nope! All I know is that I’m calling the school about the withdrawal process, taking my transcript via pdf and probably going to get my transcript mailed to USC again.
Oh yeah, after you get accepted to USC, do you have to send your transcripts again? o_o I sent my final transcripts via SGR but I’m unsure if I have send them again

@IRforlife @fightingtitan I feel your pain! I really want to be noticed if I get on-campus housing and weigh out my options. No idea what I’m going to do yet either.

@IRforlife Depending if you got accepted conditionally you do have to send them, but if you have an outright acceptance I don’t believe so. For me, I submitted my unofficial transcripts via USConnect, so they said they had to recieve the official unsealed transcripts from my university prior to orientation to solidify my acceptance. As a precaution though, I would recommend that you have your current school mail them your official final transcripts

@Spiffyb0i It’s a waiting game from now on, but I will definitely update any advancements in my situation

Does USC accept spanish as a transferrable course towards the language requirement?

It’s just weird because I checked my transfer report, and although I had completed a semester three equivalent (that was accepted by USC as a transferrable course), it said that I still needed to fulfill the language requirement…
