I've been accepted to USC (Dean's scholarship), International Relations Global Business major. I've also been accepted to NYU's Stern business school (no scholarship), International Business comajor.

I need help deciding between the two! I'm from California and I've always wanted to go to the East Coast but the hefty price tag is a huge turn off and their lack of school spirit/pride in sports is lamentable. And honestly, I do love Cali too. I don't think it's too clear which school has the better international relations/business program either, which is the most important thing for me. Both are in amazing cities (the fact that the neighborhood immediately surrounding USC is very iffy actually doesn't bother me that much).

HELP. Persuade me please; which is better, where should I go?

Have you visited both campuses? They could not be more different. USC has a true campus feel, whereas NYU’s is not clearly defined. Other than the $$ issue, USC has the factor of sports/school spirit, and that amazing Trojan network. Good luck!

After I took the NYU campus tour I couldn’t see myself going there. I wanted the full college experience and figured I could live in the middle of a big city after graduation. The stern student who gave the tour didn’t seem that enthusiastic and there really wasn’t much to the business building.

Visit NYU. You’ll either love NY, or you’ll hate it (and your opinion could very well change over time). You could always save the east coast for grad school.

As a native Southern California suburbanite, I hated New York while I was a college student. I spent a semester of undergrad in DC and made several trips to NY to visit a sibling at NYU. I couldn’t get over seeing only a strip of blue sky in a canyon of steel and concrete. And there’s no campus. Instead, look for the purple flags to figure out which buildings are NYU’s.
