USC Refund and Off Campus Housing

I'm going to be a sophomore at the University of Southern California. Last year I lived in University Owned housing (Parkside Arts and Humanities). My financial aid covered my housing costs completely. This year, I'm going to be living in University Managed housing (Shrine). My financial aid is exactly what it was last year.

Thus, my question is: If the financial aid is the exact same, and my housing is listed as off campus housing, is it probable that I'll receive a refund that will cover my new housing?

I know that's a conditional question, but I would appreciate if anyone can shed some insight.

Thanks!

Yes you should have a credit on your account after everything is applied and that money can be used to pay your monthly rent.

Agree w/NC Mom. I wanted to mention that the Shrine leases are for 12 months and you will be expected to pay for all 12, so be sure to budget accordingly and keep enough to pay those last two months even if you move out. Housing is plentiful in the summer (all the students on 12 month leases offer bargain prices to the few summer students), so despite assurances that you “can” sublease in the summer, it is NOT assured and if you find someone it will most likely be for less than you have to pay. Be sure to have enough left over from your fin aid refund to pay your rent.
