USC Scholarships

I know that people who are awarded Presidential and Trustee scholarships are interview but is it possible to get an interview if you receive the Deans scholarship?

An interview is not required for the Dean’s. If you are offered the Dean’s you get it. Simple as that. (Well…provided you don’t completely bomb your second semester…not sure what they’d do in that case)

Sequoia-If the total cost of attending USC is around 55K/year including dorms, food, tuition, etc. and one gets even a half-tuition scholarship. Aren’t we still looking at an annual cost of $37k or so? That is still quite a bit for most folks. I suppose you could then reduce it further with needs-based aid if it were awarded.

I had a friend who originally received a presidential scholarship but after her interview it bumped up to a trustee scholarship.
So you’re saying is that there no way of doing this with a Deans scholarship, right?

leso26, you are correct, the Dean’s scholarship recipients do not interview, so they would not be “bumped up.” I have not seen any posts about the actual scholarship letters being received, so don’t give up on that. I saw in your stats post that you are a NMSF. If you advance to finalist you can receive the NMF Presidential Scholarship + $1,000. There is also no interview for that scholarship, it is automatic if name USC as your first-choice school by the deadline.
Good luck!
