USC School of Business/Accounting Fall 2008

What are my chances for Marshall and the Leventhal school of accounting...

GPA: 3.6
All GE's - done
Major prereq's - done with straight A's
Optional accounting classes - 1 of the 2 done

USC site says "Students who successfully complete these courses with 'B's' or better will be competitive for admission." about the major prereq classes

Keep your fingers crossed. I feel USC is getting more competitive and I wouldn't feel safe till you have the letter in hand. That said, if you got all A's in Calculus, Micro and Macro Econ and the other prerequisites, you should be in the mix. I'm quite nervous with my 4.0. I'm expecting a grade request as I have Calculus IP this semester.

Ok dekscholar... 4.0 doesn't really say abt ur academics.... u have to give the amount of credits you have...

I would say a person with 3.8 with 64 credits is better than someone with 4.0 on 32...

mikoaper - best of luck...I hope you get in! You have to spend 1 semester at Marshall before transferring to Leventhal.

i have a 3.6 with 62 units

4.0 on 49 completed semester credits. 19.5 IP. I'm getting all A's this semester, expect for borderline A/B on calculus.

a 3.6 with 62 credits is excellent (though people on this forum have told me that with 3.82 on 86 credits with 12 in progress and 19 planned for summer ... I don't stand a chance)

but never mind... I think its unfair that Marshall doesnot allow us to specify that we want to transfer to Leventhal and not Marshall... so in that case... the admissions can be less competitive coz most students are not going for Leventhal

dekscholar... that's awesome... You are definitely in! Did you complete the optional 2 accounting courses... If you did... you just need to wait for your acceptance letter.

Thanks m.kenien: I hope you are right because I've bet my life on USC right now:) So far, I've only completed financial accounting. I'm going to take managerial over the summer at my CC.

3.88 with 100 transferable units rofl
Finishing optional accounting this sem, all other pre reqs done a year ago

Hmmm, I said on my application that I wanted to be in Leventhal. I don't know if it was in the major thing, but I definitely said I wanted to in my essay. I don't know if that makes a difference to them.

4.0 GPA. will complete 72 semester units within a year.
currently taking Microeconomics, Calculus 2, and English 1B.

72 semes units within a year...how many for a sem?
