Or maybe your daughter is so good that the committee made a decision very quickly.

why hasn’t mine changed?!?! :(

bmwguy, I remember the status indicating a decision had been made was
I got my package about 3 days after that status appeared (late January, 2008). This actually still appears on my Oasis account - brings back memories!!!

^ Oh, and for the past two years, the pattern for the early acceptances was “waves.” Friday postmarks, early Saturday status updates to “acted on,” and Los Angeles-area applicants getting the packages in Saturday’s mail. Monday the rest of California, then Tuesday through Friday the rest of the U.S. Internationals get DHL emails saying a one-pound package from USC is on the way. Maybe this weekend or next.

Perusing previous year’s threads, they did not use the “acted on” update for early admits last year (2009). But they did the year before (2008).

Oh, sorry! Old info, then. I guess the “acted on” status was too obvious!

LOL! My S is so low key on this he has no IDEA of what you guys are discussing on this thread. He has emails from various colleges with passwords to set up access to portals, etc. and hasn’t done a thing with them. He’d be really surprised to get something in the mail soon. I’m not going to spoil anything by telling him. He’s a pretty strong applicant and his Dad is on faculty, so if the answer is accept, tuition remission!

adambedford - you’re a transfer, aren’t you? I was looking through transfer threads from last year and I think they got status updates later than freshman applicants.

dreamupsided0wn: no I’m a freshman international applicant. If things don’t turn out right in the next couple of months, I may end up being a transfer though!

adambedford - sorry, my bad! I remembered you once saying there was SOMETHING different about your application status but I mixed it up. :p

I’m on a gap year…maybe that was it? Anyway, I hope there is something different about my application so that I stand out from the crowd :P

I also have the “committee review” status

My status has also been changed to “Your application has been forwarded for committee review.” I’m really hoping this is a good sign of some sort!

Does anyone have a link to last year’s decision / acceptance thread? I’d like to read through and see when the general waves of letters came out but couldn’t seem to find it via searching.

Jan 23 was the first wave.

That’s tomorrow.

the decision/acceptance thread should be on the first few pages, as it was bumped a couple days ago

edit: here it is: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/642272-stats-only-usc-decisons-2009-a.html

My son’s status was just changed to "Your application has been forwarded for committee review. " I hope this is a good sign. May god bless us all and good luck to you all.

Thinking good thoughts for all of you!

“We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.” this was mine says

I can’t believe we already have 77 (78 now) posts on this.

mine still has the one about notifying by april. but I just sent my midyear report on wednesday… so who knows. I’m worried.

If the student waiting on a decision is a National Merit Semi-Finalist eligible for the half tuition, will they receive the decision along with the other scholarship applicants that have to interview for their scholarships? Or will we have to wait?

My status hasn’t changed, which makes me sad. I feel like I am a strong applicant for USC though, and would just like to see an acceptance.
