There is not a USF site on CC, so I am guessing questions can be posted here. I would appreciate any opinions on the Honors College at USF and/or the BS/MD program there.

USF's medical school is ranked # 3 in the state of florida after UF/Miami.
Don't see any reason to second guess getting into the BS/MD 7 yr program.
All the stress you'll seeing four years by people going thru the med school application process will reafirm you made the right choice.
Their link appears below.
Accelereated Programs, 7 Yr. Medical Program - USF Honors College

The only negatives I have heard about all 7 year programs is that you better be 100% sure you want to be a doctor.

Dont know anything about their actual honors college, sorry.

You can probably start the USF BS/MD program and do really well you first two years, including EC's, and then try and get into UF's "unofficial" 7 year program. The UF one doesn't require the MCAT either. USF one does.

what is the unofficial 7 year uf program?

I did read that you are not permitted to apply to any medical school other than USF in the 7 year program. I would hope that would mean that you would be accepted in the end to theirs.

How does USF rank overall outside of Florida? The climate is very much like ours and I feel it may be a great fit for DS.

Junior Honors Medical Program - College of Medicine, University of Florida

You do 2 years of ugrad, apply for the program, a transition year, and then you start med school.

ASMAJ;

I would not recommend a program that only acceptes 12 students per year.

"While this program is at present limited to 12 students per year, expansion of the program is anticipated over the next two years."

Just mentioning an option.

I know some of the students from the past 3 classes and they seem to really enjoy it. The hard part is completing everything in 2 years to make you competitive. That includes grades, EC's, research, and getting recommendation letters. Like one of them from this years class got a publication before ending her second year. I wished I had applied but I wasn't died set on UF at that point.

Is early admission allowed in USF honors med. program for eleventh graders?
I don’t think they allow early admissions, but I’m not sure of the requirements and I can’t find them on the website.

Help?

USF is under “S” in College Confidential. It stands for South Florida, just like UF is under “F” for Florida.
