What's better for speech pathology major Ucf or usf? I'm an incoming out of state freshman sI it is expensive. I loved the campus of Ucf but im undecided on which school is better for my major, getting a job and night/social life wise. I don't want to be stuck siting in my dorm every night lol please help!!

USF and UCF operate the two largest Communication Sciences and Disorders programs of any universities in Florida. I think USF’s program is more stable than UCF’s; and it is ranked higher than UCF’s. UCF doesn’t have a dept. head for its CSD dept. right now–they have an interim chairman–UCF’s program, in my opinion, seems to be disorganized and adrift without proper direction presently–I’ve had to deal with them! Too, one of the most important things necessary to gain admission into a graduate school speech pathology program is getting good recommendations from your undergraduate professors. If a school has a revolving door with professors leaving, they might not be around when you need them for recommendations to get into graduate school. A master’s degree is necessary to get a license to practice speech pathology.

If you earn a master’s in speech pathology, you are pretty much guaranteed employment in the future–speech pathologists are in pretty high demand.

4 million people live in Tampa Bay region, there is something to do for everyone. When you arrive in Florida for college, you can’t go to the beach everyday–but there are plenty of things to do on and off campus between studying and attending classes. You’ll make new friends and you will not be sitting in your room alone unless you want to. Good Luck!
