Using Barron's for SAT Subject test math level 2 & learning concepts for ACT

Hey guys for those who have taken the Math level 2 subject tests and used Barron’s to prepare, did the Barron’s book do a good job of teaching concepts you might have forgotten or didn’t learn in school math classes? I’m trying to use the summer to fill in the multiple math concept gaps I have so I’ll be ready to do really well on the math level 2 subject test come August & hopefully even the ACT in September/October. Do you think some of the topics in Barron’s are also useful in preparing to succeed in the ACT math section? What were your guys’ experience using Barron’s & how helpful was the book overall to your knowledge of math?

I don’t remember what book I used but in general Barron’s books overprepare you for the subject, so you should be good.

I tried to prep my daughter for SAT Math II with Barrons and it was overkill. We didn’t have time to master all that extra material and it didn’t turn out to be necessary.

We stepped back and went with Princeton Review SAT Math II and McGraw Hill Precalculus questions. We skipped around to just the topics she was rusty on. She also took 3 of the 4 tests in the SAT Math Subject Tests book by the College Board (one level one and both level twos). It is very important to practice with real College Board tests.

We got through that much more quickly than we were getting through the Barron’s book, and she got an 800.

Barrons rocks!

I’m a strong math student however. Other than class, mostly used Barron’s books:

Math II = 800
