Hey Zaphod...I can speak with a New York accent at will! No one here in CA ever hears it, but that doesn't mean I couldn't...can't you????

jl2010... both sides of my grandparents immigrated ( legally, I might add, but let's not go there) from Italy in the late 1890's....all settled in the Bronx. I was born in the Bronx, but grew up in Valley Stream Long Island....Moved to So CA with my family as a 12 year old. Coming into a catholic school at 7th grade of a K-8 school I was the new freak with a funny accent on day one. By day three I lost my accent, trust me.

Zaph and I, while almost a generation apart - come from the relatively same neck of the woods, it turns out, right Zaph! :-)

Hi Cadetmom,
Thanks for the info on CFA. I feel like I'm being a pain, but the issue is not about scores. We knew from his BGO that he would not know my son's score. That we understood, however, we did not know if the CFA was part of the triple Q. I just wanted to know if he was suppose to receive "qualification" on the CFA. I have heard from several people saying he will NOT get a qualification letter like he did for academics and medical. They will simply let you know CFA has been received. If that is not correct, please let me know. Thanks.

I can , but it sounds forced. My problem is that I have NEVER spoken that way, nor even hung around a lot of people who did. I got it all from TV.

Ya know? ;)

Hey Peskemom - from what part of Bella L'Italia did your folks emigrate?
Ever been back there??

Back in Fall, my son called up his Candidate Guidance Officer and asked if the scores were adequate. She was happy to answer him. Try that!

Yeah its actually not that common to hear people talk like that. I don't know too many "Cousin Vinnys"

hahaha I love it when people say "you're from new york?...but you sound....normal..."

JJLMom,
He will not receive any notification regarding the CFA, only that scores have been received.
Basically he should be shooting for the highest score possible, and if he feels that he it was not his best showing, he may retake the test and resubmit the scores.
I'll look into the specifics for you!
