UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Hi Zeoxys: thanks, but does it mean my app. only can be reviews after I update my transcript?
Thompson: thanks

Hi I have been following for long. Do you guys know the pre-req for Comp Sci?

@harugaru added you to the list

@turboC There are no mandatory pre-requisites for Comp Sci. They just recommend have calculus finished and high grades in math and science courses to be competitive.

@harugaru
Your application will be in review and looked at before you upload your spring transcript.

However, they will re-evaluate you when you upload a new transcript, showing that you have completed M 408L and if your gpa raised/dropped for any reason.

Since there are people who are taking pre-reqs in the spring semester, McCombs waits until they can truly compare everyone.

As a result, McCombs decisions are one of the latest ones, most of them coming out in mid june by the end of the deadline.

International applicants and exceptional applicants (applicants with 4.0ā€™s, all pre-reqs completed) may hear back in may

Do you guys think they arenā€™t showing a review status or like thereā€™s a glitch (like when they said we could sign up for orientation)? I think someone said they were in review, but I couldnā€™t remember for sure.

Maybe Iā€™m just being hopeful. Sigh.

My app has been under review for almost 5-6 days now, an international student applying from UCLA, 3.557 GPA and 50 quarter units which are almost 33-semester units. Major: Mathematics. Got rejected by UT Austin when applied as a freshman so now looking to transfer.

@OGmandyV I read on a thread from a couple of years ago that they never went into review, just complete and then accepted. Iā€™m crossing my fingers thatā€™s what is going on! Lol

@colanxgirl haha that would be nerve-wracking but lovely!!

@zainnaeem Why not call the school up and ask how long it should take? :3

Most International students are in review at the moment. Itā€™s possible they are just super late this year due to the volume of freshman applications and appeals or whatnot. I saw a couple years back that transfers didnā€™t go into review until March 25th

What was the earliest admittance last year?

@Fudgerino from what I could tell around April 15

Another day. Nothing has changed

They extended the due date for submissions of essays this year to March 10th

So theyā€™re about a week behind from last year.

Hi, I attend Baylor and want to attend UT CNS, what are my chances for spring? approx 3.45-3.5 gpa, good ec, research and shadowing over the summer. will have 33 credits end of freshman year, and will have 51 end of first sem sophomore year.

Zeoxys: Your saying is making a lot of senses for me. Now I understand why last year people did not get feedback until June 15-16. įŗ¢nd I know when I expect to get the result. Thanks a lot

I applied to transfer from a community college for fall. 3.4 GPA, tanked after I got a D in Math. Applied for Policital Communications. Have pretty decent essays & 4 LOR. Did a nationwide competition about the fiscal debt & have lots of leadship experience. #1 does anyone know how competitive Political Communications is? I know Moody is competitive but is that just with PR/Ad.? #2 hope itā€™s not too late to be added to the list!

@bneum922 Added you to the list.

I donā€™t think Political Communications is super competitive and I think you have a good shot.
