UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

@Fudgerino I doubt it. They only make sure you passed, as far as I recall.

@stoppingtheworld Ahh so they might reject if you fail a subject? Yeesh that would suck. Iā€™ve got a pretty horrid professor at the moment, I was hoping that I could maintain my GPA but heā€™s really just throwing everyone for a loop. I think Iā€™ll have to settle for passing soon enough.

@stoppingtheworld Iā€™m so ready for Uni life as well haha, I really want to be in an academic environment where Iā€™m in charge. Just thinking about all the opportunities at UT gets me really hyped!

Thanks for answering all my questions guys xD

@Fudgerino I think you would have to mess up pretty bad for them to rescind an offer of an admission. If youā€™re worried about it, I would just call before you send in your spring grades to clear up the situation

I just want my decision so I can move on with my life and not think about this 24/7 haha

@awesomesaucee yeah same! I really hope they see my upward trend in GPA, seeing as I made a 4.0 in my first ā€œactualā€ college semester. The reason my GPA is a 3.42 is because of stupid dual creditā€¦

@Fudgerino Iā€™m on the same boat as you. I am a 4.0 student thatā€™s about to have his GPA wrecked from one class. Iā€™m taking a course that is generally pretty straightforward but the way the material is being presented is ā€¦ in need of improvement.

If youā€™re applying to CNS, I was told that if you are really worried about getting accepted that you should choose a second choice major outside of CNS because with the exception of CompSci, you can change majors once accepted to CNS without trouble. Youā€™re better off having a back up outside of that college to be an internal transfer later.

This is what I was told by an admission counselor. I didnā€™t really have a choice since I wasnā€™t interested in anything else outside of CNS.

mine has not gone into review yet ? should I be worried ?

same here. Iā€™m super nervous. but not because of my decision, I just want to know early on so I can sign my lease already.

@utcshopeful Nope.

Does anyone know how many people applied to transfer for Fall 2018? Maybe a admissions person talked to them or something??

@stoppingtheworld I think Iā€™m going to start drafting a statement just in case they require one. Itā€™s so frustrating to deal with a professor who couldnā€™t care less about teaching the material.

I donā€™t think anyone who applied as an in-state resident has gone into review yetā€¦

Yeah same i applied for instate and Iā€™m still not in review and itā€™s killing me :((

So itā€™s Tuesday and still nothing! :expressionless:

Itā€™s going to pop up unexpectedly soon and then this forum will explode! haha.

Can someone add me to the list
In state transfer to McCombs, GPA 4.0 60 hours. 3 LOR
By the way, I would like to ask about my situation.
Right now I have 56 hours with 4.0 GPA, and taking cal 2 ( last class) with expectation to get A.
Is there any problem such as be required to submit transcript after Spring to get that cal2 completed in order to be reviewed?
Please help

since youā€™re taking a pre-req for McCombs (M 408L) in the spring, you have to upload a new transcript after this semester ends showing the completion of Calculus 2.

I think you have until the Mid May to upload a new transcript.

your external gpa also gets readjusted accordingly based upon your spring performance.

@harugaru You should have no problem transferring with your GPA. But i donā€™t know the specific pre-reqs for mccobms or for your major though.
