UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Lol does this mean UT hasn’t started looking at ANY of our applicantions until now? :stuck_out_tongue:

And I’m in review as well.

In state, 65 hours, 3.88 from Texas A&M.
Applying to McCombs

I’m in review too! Best of luck to everyone, I hope we all get in

Were at the hardest part. This is going to be the longest 1-2 months of my life and maybe some of yours #:-S

@awesomesaucee I just want it to go fast because that means we’ll be closer to the end of the semester lol.

Also got “in review” status today on my application portal. Applying to McCombs with 77 SH done and 3.84 GPA. Suffering through Calculus II this semester to knock out that final pre-req. GLTA

In review for COLA govt with a 3.41 and I am SO ticked off because just after submitting my resume I got involved with this AMAZING volunteer thing which I can’t put on my application now. I’m going to be hyperventilating for the next month (especially as I haven’t begun to sort out where the heck I’m going to be living next year)

@J3ennife4 Have you tried calling and updating them about your new volunteering position?

@Thompson2688 “dang”

I am a rsident and just got notified that my application is under review

In Review! What a nice way to end the day. I applied with automatic transfer admission (there were special forms) so maybe I will get my decision earlier…maybe not

In Review!! Hopefully we all get our decisions soon, this wait will be agonizing…

There is "Attention: Your file is in review. " but my status is still “complete”. Is it means they haven’t start reviweing mine?? Nervous!!

In Review

4.0 GPA 25 Hours (37Hours after Spring)

1)Advertising
2)Communication and Leadership

Finally In Review !

Computer Science

My anxiety is through the roof. I have to remember to breathe!

Is there a certain amount of credit hours that UT sees as a sort of “limit”? I heard from someone that UT would not be interested in transfers who have over 60 credit hours. Could anyone speak on this?

@junchul2 I did read that they prefer to have people under 60 hours because it takes another 60 to complete a degree there but I have seen on this thread in previous years that people have been accepted with more than 70.

The reason some of students got accepted even they have more than 60 hours is they are international student before that, they have to maintain their status by taking 12 credit hours per semester. But when they about to transfer, they change status from international to resident. As of my knowledge, for McComb school, they will not accept you if you have over 60 hours unless you have special reason which mentioned in essay

For McCombs external domestic/internal transfers"

" Candidates must within the first, four long-semesters "

“Students with 90 or more hours or a completed degree are encouraged to consider other options, such as completing a degree in their current college/school or alternate institution with the option of pursuing an MBA or MPA degree at a later date.”

When accepting applicants, UT also looks at whether this applicant can graduate within 4 years of starting their college career.

It looks bad on UT if they have a lot of ppl who cant finish within 4 years and I know they have been trying to push up on 4 yr graduation rates
