UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

Yay Any chance they’ll release any decision in late March?

@Wakgood If that were to happen I would be very, very, surprised. The only possibility I see that happening is if you have “name on building material” which means if one of your family members has donated a lot of money, i.e. has a building named after them, that’s the only time I see this occurring though.

My app is in review!

I’m applying to UTA as well.
Here are my stats:

20 Y/o, Female, Asian/Pacific Islander, Out of state, community college transfer
Major: Computer Engineering / Computer Science
Transfer Credits: On a quarter basis… I will have 155+ when I transfer (this is about 108 semester based)
GPA: Will be 3.81-3.84 when I finish (kinda low but I took a bunch of classes I didn’t necessarily need… my last two quarters will be 4.0’s)
Extra curriculars: solid. nothing too outstanding or out of the ordinary. i have some hackathon experience, several hours of volunteer experience, and am heavily involved on campus.
Essay: strong… could be a little risky but i had a few people read it and they said it was good
Professor Recommendation: I have 1 from my math professor
SAT subject scores: ehh… I really do poorly under timed exams. I don’t see how I am expected to answer 75 physics questions in 60 minutes and do outstandingly lol
Resume: strong
HS: really bad. but i made a huge improvement in college and have been taking college level classes for 3 years (since I was 17)

Good luck to us all! honestly i am not expecting to get in… lol. Even if I did get in I need a lot of aid…

Are rejections and acceptances released around the same time? Or if you get rejected will you know pretty early?

Hey everyone - I’ve been following this thread for a while and decided to make an account. I’ve been seeing a lot of in state people saying that their apps are in review and I just wanted to say that I’m an out of state transfer and mine just went into review today; I hope this helps ease the nerves of any out of state students out there!

I have "Attention: Your file is in review. " but my status is still “complete”. Anyone can tell me is it means I am in review or not? Thanks!!

@turboC I think youll have to call Monday to be sure. this is what my, myStatus says:

Your application for admission is in review.
We have all the items we need to make your admission decision. As soon as your decision is made, it will be posted on this page and you’ll be notified by mail.

hi guys! I applied to ut austin as a transfer student from acc. 1st major is civil engineering and 2nd is environmental engineering. I am currently take engineering physics and cal 2 this semester. Is there any possibility they will accept or reject me before i send my final spring transcript? I have a strong GPA, LOR, AND ESSAY. Has that ever happened?

@naeemnaeem If you are currently taking the required pre-requisites in the Spring Semester, UT will not give you a decision before you turn in your spring transcript and prove that you have completed the necessary classes.

Thank you! does anyone know the deadline to submit spring transcripts?

Thanks!

This is what it says in MyStatus, maybe I need to call them on Monday

@turboC Everybody’s MyStatus says that

@awesomesaucee Thanks!! I am an international and my My Status just seems a little different from a friend of mine who is in state, which is confusing.

quick question So i currently have a high gpa and I’m taking cal2 and engineering physics 1 this semester. I applied to civil (1st) and environmental eng(2nd) if i get a B in engineering physics does that automatically get me rejected? Anyone know anything about other peoples stat that got accepted into civil with a B in Eng PHY. I really want to get into civil but I’m really nervous!

@naeemnaeem I believe June 1st is the final day to submit spring transcripts

How do we submit the spring transcripts?

@AT26ATX When I sent my transcripts I had the option to send my spring grades. This work in progress transcript only shows what classes you are currently taking, and not a grade. But for submitting spring transcripts when you have them completed, I do not know the answer to that.

@AT26ATX You will mostly likely not need to submit your spring grades until you are accepted or try to appeal. At the end of the semester, you would have the option to send in your grades if you are planning to do either of the two scenarios I mentioned.
