UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

If you go to the thread from 2016/2017 the first person said they found out at 430pm. Then it went on pretty steady until like 9pm. So it’s definitely not over for today. Keep your fingers crossed!!

People heard back at like 8pm last year right?

HYPE

Man If we don’t hear back today I’m gonna be bummed

I got tired of checking my status online. So I just subscribed to this thread. I figure when I start getting a million notifications of people updating this thread, it’s time to check!

Ya same, it’s killing me.

Could someone chance me/add me to the list?

1st choice: Computer Science, 2nd choice: Electrical Engineering

Currently at Texas State with 58 hours and a 4.0. Part of the Computer Science Club and Honors College.

Strong work background and 3 LORs. Don’t know how I feel about essays, but had them reviewed by an editor and 2 current UT students.
Did high school debate and have received numerous national awards.

Thanks and good luck to all!

@TexasHistory Same lol.

@Chipaton I’d say you have a solid chance! Everything looks good and flawless :))

@Chipaton What STEM classes have you completed? if you have completed at least 1 first year science sequence and Calc 1 and Calc 2 Im pretty sure you have a really good shot.

@CleanShoes Completed Calc 1, currently in Calc 2. Currently in Physics I.

Also completed the first CS class here.

Hello, I am an international student. I am waiting for the admission result as well. So damn stressful 8-X . Is it true that international students will be notified later than other applicants?

@ResultComeOut , In my view, notifications for international students have to be out early as it takes quite a bit of time for visa process. Even the website says, all the admits should be roled out by June 15th while for International students it is May last week. BTW- Am international student too… but have a visa though…

Same, this is where I come to get updated :))

I have a 3.46 GPA, 9 organizations, lots of volunteer hours, a LOR from my professor, a LOR from a top lawyer at Baker Hughes, 30 hours done after this semester, my essays are good, and Im a minority

Could someome tell me what my chances are please? :smiley:

@rmoney16 depends on what major you’re applying to.

It’s honestly so much less stressful to stay updated through here… every time I load the MyStatus page my heart drops :frowning:

Oh my bad I totally forgot to mention! Im applying for Govt

@rmoney16 you said 30 hours after this semester right? So how many hours did you have by the time you submitted your application?

@Thompson2688 I had 24 completed

@rmoney16 You’re kind of in the same boat as me, GPA: 3.42, because our GPA’s are lower than the avg for COLA, 3.5. If your essays are good and are/were in a lot of extracurricular activities then you should have a shot. One thing I’ve already planned on doing is, if I get declined, I’m going to send in my spring transcripts and appeal with my higher grades. You could try this out too if you get declined (not saying you will, or you won’t, it’s just a plan B).

@Thompson2688 Thank you!

Do yall think theyll pay attention to grades in certain courses? Because I got all As in all my classes which were anthropology and political science (my majors) but Im terrible in STEM so I got a C in geology which totally sunk my GPA
Im really hoping they see that it doesnt apply to major and thatll buy me some leeway
